There is a thread on BWW which discusses lengthily about the "muting" of some words in HAMILTON when it was released on Disney+...which mentions the ushering in of a new Disney+ policy with the uncensored release of Days of Future Past.

The change in Disney+ policy for streamed movies was a cause celebre, enough for Variety to headline the story.

Presumably the release of the uncensored movie is ushering in a more liberal Disney+ policy. If maybe they had released Hamilton after this policy initiative, then maybe it would have been kept whole. Although Days of Future Past may have been chosen as the test release on Disney+ because it was one of the most successful movies in the film franchise and has already been seen by many? Another well-loved movie in the franchise (XMen:First Class - with McAvoy/Lawrence/Fassbender - PG-13) has not been offered yet, presumably because its most famous scene is a brief cameo ( again with Jackman) using the F word in a 3-word sentence...

What happens to the R-rated movies which were very successful at the box office ? Disney bought the entire FOX library presumably to reinforce its streaming offerings - so it is a bit of a dilemma. So, maybe it is not just about 1 movie but a whole film library that may have to considered and reviewed seriously by Disney+ ...Deadpool is already campaigning to be seen as well.

And among those "R" rated XMen movies is the best-loved and highest-rated LOGAN!

Hugh Jackman is taking whatever wins he can get and that includes his uncensored butt.

Disney+ has censored out a few parts of movies to make them family-friendly for the streaming platform including the nudity in “Splash” that turned out to more look like a furry bum and removing “f**k” from Hamilton.

However, they did miss Jackman’s rear end in the 2014 movie “X-Men: Days Of Future Past”, as pointed out by fans.


“‘Days Of Future Past’ becomes the first movie to air on Disney+ uncensored. That was my future but let’s be honest … it’s more like my past,” Jackman teased on his Instagram. He included the clip from the film with a giant emoji covering his butt.


So hurry and watch “X-Men” before the folks at Disney get wise and edit it out.

I just saw most of the movie on cable.

It gets a different reaction for me, compared to when I saw it on IMAX and other theatrical screenings.

The dramatic issues among the characters were more marked this time -- even Wolverine becomes more engaged in the issue between the young Charles and Mystique...in the issue of mutant extinction as if we were talking of the human race. While the finale sequences were spectacular, it was how the characters resolved their personal issues which engaged me more.

The epilog took on a slightly different reaction -- more poignant. Part of it is because when Logan and Prof Xavier were talking of what has happened which changed the course of history...

my mind went fast forward...

and wondered what actually happened in the future...

to find (old man) Logan trying to take care of the sick Prof Xavier...

and how they will be on a final death time path.

These three actors are also serious dramatic actors -- will we ever see them together again... but in a dramatic cum action film ( such as a dramatic war movie)...or a movie with a serious theme?

They have all done work in the theatre.

Days of Future Past is the champ at the box office for the XMen franchise.

PS: I didn't know that Michael Fassbender is also an auto racing driver now and has actively competed in races. I thought he was just a racing fan as he has been often seen at the Monaco Grand Prix.
