Too bad those other women never shut up or made an effort to include Deb or get her opinion. Their comments about Hugh were inappropriate (can't believe I am saying this!) - but the co-hosting was about Deb. Wrong venue for her!
Wish Hugh was presenting on the Tony's tonight......

I'm not a fan of The View and I was tempted to turn off the episode several times but kept hoping Deb could get in a word here and there, but it seemed impossible. I don't understand why all of the female hosted talk shows are mostly about them yelling and talking over each other. I thought they mostly ignored her - with the exception to talk about how hot Hugh is - and the only person who told her she was doing a good job was Matthew Morrison, and I think he understood how crazy the show was. I would like to see Deb co-host a show where she could actually talk.

Deb was fine given the limited opportunity she was given to speak. I too thought some of the references to Hugh were inappropriate, and if I never see the lap dance photo again I won't mind a bit.
It was helpful to be reminded of why I no longer watch The View, a show which I used to enjoy.

Caligirl, Rmtndew and Chessie, you'll find we all felt pretty much the way you did about Deb on The View. Not sure if you have read the other posts on this subject? Check them out on page 14 of The Jackman Family thread, starting around reply 334... ozalots.proboards.com/thread/13/jackman-family?page=14Alma

Just an impression -- does he relish dancing more than the singing? He seemed to have enjoyed the demonstration of the Rockette kick in the first episode and the tap dancing from Back on Broadway in the second ITAS appearance. Remember how he recalled in previous interviews that had his brother not discouraged him, he could have learned dancing at a much earlier age ( because a teacher encouraged him to do it -- s/he must have seen a hint of Billy Elliot in the young Hugh) ? Instead, it all turned to athletic activities...and later on to action movies - LOL!
If and when he does a next movie musical -- I hope it involves some dancing, as Hugh exhibits a very natural athletic grace while expressing himself through dance!

My cable grid lists Hugh on 60 MINUTES tonight. It's listed as new, but it also has Stephen Spielberg, Daniel Day Lewis, and Doris Kearns Goodwin, so that may indicate repeat segments configured to appear as new.

Although it's being listed as new, even on the TV Guide site, it clearly has some redone segments. Here's a preview from the CBS site: www.cbs.com/shows/60_minutes/video/E5blBdvl6dM0wUQhu6AieZi3pxxOvakP/preview-a-night-at-the-movies/They're calling it "a night at the movies"...Maybe they save a few bits from previous interviews to add to future related shows like this one but, at least the bit in the preview, is from last December's show! Have to wait & see I guess. Sue

Glad Hugh's segment was first. It appeared to be mostly old and maybe some new bits (I will have to compare it to my older recording) and nicely laudatory of his versatile talents. Loved the baby pictures--and of course the workout bits. Yowza!
Late edit: Just compared the Dec. recording to this one. The only difference was in Scott Pelley's intro. Still, nice to see again.

It has been uploaded on the CBS site -- www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50150372n&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitterWhat makes me elated about the feature is not so much the new stuff on Hugh ( not much really - baby photos and teenage actor on stage) but that he is part of a special feature where he shares billing with the most decorated ( Oscar-wise) actor in history and the most successful franchise ( and probably the most exposed character in movies) in film of all time! That puts Hugh in a special pedestal, too -- I wonder if what Scott Palley is lauding is the fact that Hugh Jackman represents arguably the most versatile actor in contemporary times ( film and stage and even entertainment -hosting). Scott also cites that what makes him unique is his " film presence" as an action hero in movies! He has come a long way...from Knox Grammar School Jo

Re the photos at curtain call when he was a teenager -- could that have been Knox Grammar School's staging of MY FAIR LADY? We know that he was once Professor Henry Higgins - except he seemed to look almost younger than his Eliza giggle. I may be wrong but didn't that school play featured his girlfriend then named Belinda Wilson? Lol - I don't know where all these bits of memory cells come from -- all trivia sometimes 8-)

Having Hugh's segment followed by DDL's helped to highlight the exceptional level of talent that made up this year's academy award nominees for best actor. This was a most welcome "rerun."

Carol Ditto, Carol! The idea that Sixty Minutes decided to rerun the DDL and HJ segments together demonstrates respect for both actors. Now that Hugh is in the Oscar Nominee club, perhaps he will be able to make another musical (or two or three). If THE WOLVERINE prompts Fox to want another "Logan" film, he might be able to say, "OK, but let me do a film musical first." Just a little speculation on my part here, but one can only hope......

Lol - I don't know where all these bits of memory cells come from -- all trivia sometimes 8-) Jo It also looked to me like MY FAIR LADY--specifically, the horse racing scene at Ascot, as Eliza is about to exclaim, "Dover, move your bloomin' arse." And I think you're also right about his girlfriend Belinda Wilson, who, if I remember correctly, was school prefect/captain at Abbotsleigh, the all-girls sister school to the all-boys Knox Grammar. I do recall reading that she played Eliza in that school production. Not surprising that although they were likely the same age, she looked more mature, as girls usually mature faster than boys. At one performance of BACK ON BROADWAY, two young women in attendance said they were graduates of Abbotsleigh, which used to do co-productions with Knox Grammar. Ellen
