I just hope Data Lounge and After Elton don't learn about this. Imagine the comments.
It's a nice shot of him, though.

Ha. Hadn't thought of that. Well, it could be worse, at least you don't have to lick the screen to unlock it. Does seem like kind of a cool feature, I guess. Seems like most people can at least manage to touch their screens though.

This article cum press release rationalizes why the name of Hugh Jackman has been decided to endorse this product of Indian technology and why he is expected to tap a different market now obtaining for the smartphone. www.exchange4media.com/53216_micromax-hugh-jackman-association-more-than-just-another-celebrity-endorsement.htmlAlso, check out a brief ad featuring Hugh endorsing the product. On the other hand -- why would Hugh be interested in signing his name to this product?*He has previously endorsed another technology-based product/service, FOXTEL, in his native Australia. *His Lipton Tea commercials were directed to a much broader market and it did enhance his image as a verstatile performer. *India has never been a great market for US films ( not for the XMEN series nor for Les Miserables) - so maybe Hugh had considered whether this could help the marketing of films that he is involved in? Not many people know that he can indeed do juggling tricks! Do you remember when he juggled lit torches on Jay Leno's show?

Of course, he might be slightly out of practice now. A couple of weeks ago, he had a, er, prop malfunction vis-a-vis catching the twirled umbrella and the cane in L.A., LOL. But I chalked that up to scant rehearsal before a one-off. I just hope he doesn't try the lit torches again. Ellen

Maybe if he had one like Brad Pitt throw him the cane ( although they did rehearse during the commercial break for the 2009 Oscars), he might be better at doing it

[Moved to consolidate topics. ADMIN]I know that somewhere in here are videos & info about Hugh doing ads and I'm pretty sure that his recent foray into the high tech phone biz was talked about but I can't find it!!!! I wanted to add a comment about the new Micromax phone ad so (Valerie) if there is already a thread for this perhaps this comment can be moved over to it. Here's my comment: Hugh Jackman Global Phenomenon! This started a couple days ago when my son was over and we were talking about the new ad. I went to my YouTube app on my TV and did a search for the most recent uploads for Hugh & the whole page was thumbnails of that ad. (Each page on my app shows 40 thumbnails!) Anyway, since then I've really paid attention and every day the first few new pages are dominated by that ad. Usually a new trailer, a performance or a movie opening will generate a lot of enthusiasm but I've never seen it like this and especially not over an ad. I think this shows that: 1. The micromax company has struck gold by hiring Hugh to be their spokesman and 2. Hugh is an even bigger global phenomenon than we may have previously recognized! Thoughts??? <anyone> Sue

[Moved to consolidate topics. ADMIN]Lol - I thought you might be referring to LOST, the TV show...but the only remote connection was Evangeline Lilly (sp?) who was in Real Steel. I think you were looking for this (it is found among the NEWS threads) -- ozalots.proboards.com/thread/302/jackman-product-ads-promotionsI think India has also been a tough nut to crack, when it comes to Hollywood movies (for even the XMEN franchise). I thought this might help open up the market for at least Days of Future Past...and since India seems to love musicals, maybe if and when he films GREATEST SHOWMAN, his presence in the Indian consumer market might open some doors? India is the second biggest country in terms of population - so there are many possibilities that could be gained, filmed entertainment-wise. But didn't he and Deb also enjoy their trip to India? Plus he seemed to have made some friends with some Indian celebrities. Jo

He seems to really believe in the product--or else that's just another example of his great acting ability. I wonder how much $ he's receiving to be the brand ambassador? Or for Lipton, for that matter. Those endorsement deals can be very lucrative. Ellen

Sue,
I've been down with the flu just like you. Not fun. In the Mont Blanc video, don't you think Hugh's hair looks lighter, like in Swordfish? I'm speculating that he may have had it lightened for his role in Chappie --with the mullet, although it didn't LOOK lighter in the pictures with that mullet-- or it may have been just the lighting in this place. I guess we'll find out soon enough!
Hang in there, and I hope you are back to feeling yourself very soon. Stay warm!
Alma

Get well, Sue and Alma Thanks for the video, Sue -- Hugh fits in in any occasion. He carries such an elegance with his charisma! I think he does try to speak a few French words in the right accent ( remember "Pardon!" when he was about to rescue Fauchelevent in Les Miserables -- that was perfectly said, nasal sound included)...Maybe his visits with his uncle in Paris ( whose wife is French) rubs off when he tries to learn a few words, this time like " Montblanc" Wasn't he blonde when he was a young boy? Maybe his hair is really a light brunette? I do remember in the Boy From Oz that his hair seemed lighter in shade. Re Montblanc -- I used to dream about a writing pen or maybe even a ballpen when I was working. But it was a bit expensive, nay, too expensive. The dream came true when I was invited to an offshore investment banking signing deal and as a memento, we were given copies of the ceremonial pen! A Montblanc! I never used mine...but I have now unearthed it - LOL! Jo

Montblanc ad -- The photo suggests a quiet library in a house -- but Will Hugh ever play a film role in the executive suite? There's already a Wolf in Wall Street Jo
