Hugh might stay in Europe for the weekend till the Fox presentation day in Barcelona? In last year's CineEurope, it was Michael Gracey who made a long presentation ( talk and some concept charts) on GREATEST SHOWMAN and he told the story of how Hugh was a trouper enough to have started singing at the last reading, despite doctor's orders.

I don't think the audience would appreciate seeing Michael Gracey alone again. I think Hugh Jackman will likely join Michael Gracey for whatever they might present there ( I suspect this is where they might unveil the first trailer or teaser ... I am hoping at least for that ). Hugh is lead actor and producer...and is coming on the back of his commercially and critically successful LOGAN run, including in some cities in Europe! If I were Fox, I would ask Pasek&Paul to be around, too, because they are newly minted as this season's most successful music team ( with Oscar and Tony wins for LaLaLand and Dear Evan Hansen, respectively). They would definitely be ace presentation participants!

The studio also teased its Hugh Jackman-fronted P.T. Barnum musical biopic, 'The Greatest Showman,' and Pharrell Williams stopped by to promote 'Hidden Figures.'

20th Century Fox on Tuesday put on on a nearly two-hour show to close the second day of the annual CineEurope trade show in Barcelona, the studio's first public presentation since it was revealed last week that Stacey Snider would succeed chairman Jim Gianopulos in the chairman role.

Much of the time was spent on The Greatest Showman, the Hugh Jackman-fronted musical biopic of legendary U.S. circus owner and entertainment businessman P.T. Barnum. Although the project has yet to go into production, director Michael Gracey was onstage to walk the audience through his vision of a film he said would be a "return to the classic film musical." He likened it to West Side Story, Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music.

Concept art and musical numbers were unveiled, as well as videos of Jackman and the team in rehearsals (one of which took place the day after the actor had an operation and defied the wishes of a doctor who said he shouldn't sing).

Here's a report of the CineEurope presentation of pre-production efforts for GREATEST SHOWMAN ON EARTH from a reporter for a Dutch site.

Please pardon the rough translation ( one fact cited is definitely erroneous - Hugh did have skin cancer, not lung cancer, surgery).

Fox really wanted to tell you about a very special production, the musical about legendary ringmaster P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman on Earth. But yes, there is no shot of twisted. And thus attracted young director Michael Gracey the courage and talked for half an hour with great enthusiasm the entire film together with only sketches in the background. When he finally showed images of Jackman who, despite a recently undergone lung cancer from his body sings during a rehearsal you could hear a pin drop in the auditorium. "And that's why Hugh Jackman is the greatest showman on earth," was the dry comment of Gracey. He might just be right.

Zendaya is in Barcelona for SPIDERMAN : Homecoming, which will likely have a presentation at CINEEUROPE.
