It looks like Hugh is missing the London premiere. It would have been such a punishing schedule if he had to go to London... then Beijing, Singapore, and finally Melbourne from Monday to Friday (plus a side trip to Perth on Saturday for the inauguration of the Jackman Furness Foundation), especially as he is still recovering from his surgical procedure. Hope he also has time to visit Sydney. LOL- Now I don't have to watch the live stream of the London premiere -- it goes on live stream at one hour past midnight here! But he'll be missed at Leicester Square wolverine PS: I wonder when he will be flying to England for the filming of PAN ( which has been underway since end-April)? Of course there is also the TONYs to rehearse for and to host Jo

At the NYC premiere, Chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment Jim Gianopulos, had been interviewed alongside the stars of the movie. Someone from the SHH forum also said that News Corporation Chairman Rupert Murdoch was also seen at the premiere (News Corp is the parent company of FOX).
Hopefully, they could gauge the fan enthusiasm for this unique franchise and keep it in the quality level that differentiates it from the more-mindless type of blockbusters ( no offense meant, but James Marsden's response as to why the franchise has had its loyal following because the series " never has gotten silly" is quite appropriate).

The NY premiere, including interviews with Hugh, was covered on Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, Extra and Access Hollywood tonight. On the last, host Billy Bush joked about "that" scene. Bottoms up! Ellen

Hugh has arrived in Beijing and is already enjoying himself! Loved the instagram video clip - Hugh is so athletic! I suspect the premiere, with Hugh, Fan Bing Bing, and Peter Dinklage will get a very special welcome from fans! And hopefully a much, much bigger one at the box office smiley-happy036 PS: I think the "bottoms up" scene has been "spoiled" earlier by someone who had seen the movie much earlier. There was a discussion why the NUDITY exception was given by MPAA and it turned out that it may not have been any risqué poses from Mystique but the usual nude scenes from Wolvie Jo

Maybe because they are talking about someone who makes a living partly because of his looks... and perhaps a constant battle with the disease may eventually cause some facial disfigurement. A six month-occurrence after the last one may have raised alarm among most. Facial disfigurement ( because it seems it is his face that may have been exposed to the cancer possibilities) may not necessarily happen given the kind of care available to him, but the thought could be worrisome.
But Hugh has not allowed the interruption to keep him from his professional commitments. Hopefully it will be fully healed ( so he can be fully made up) when he joins the filming for PAN. Even better, hopefully, the longterm prognosis is much more positive!
Also, Hugh is a much loved movie star and the concern is likely genuine from media and fans alike.

Apart from his deepening connection in playing the character of Wolverine, I find his comment about how he handles the repetitive portrayal in the theatre very interesting. I have always thought that given my limited opportunity to see him onstage in a play, that the best time to see him would be at least a few weeks or so after Opening Night, maybe even a month or two afterwards. Just my gut feel Jo

This is how the X-Men E-xperience will happen in Southeast Asia, via Singapore -- m.todayonline.com/blogs/ratedg/how-meet-cast-x-men-days-future-past-singaporeIt sounds very organized - LOL! Can you expect anything less from such a city like Singapore Singapore is not only actively competing with Tokyo and Hongkong as Asia's key financial center...but it is also upping its cultural attractions very much! The first live F-1 night racing happened here...musical theatre attractions are regular events in the region...it is also becoming the art auction center in Asia...other tourist attractions ( such as famous and fantastic gardens) are constantly being developed. I have been there 4 times, but only for business related reasons -- because it is more known for being a business center. PS: It looks media from neighboring countries (including the Philippines) will be flown in to cover the event -- www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/movies/story/x-men-stars-singapore-20140514 The regional press couldn't have a better PR man than Hugh Jackman! It will likely be a first encounter for them with Mr. Jackman! Jo

WELCOME to Singapore!*FanBingBing is welcomed first in the poster -- maybe they were being gallant and giving the first welcome to a lady first? *Interesting that the event itself is a cooperative venture with the local business association! Jo

I've just watched the livestream ( via YouTube) of the premiere ceremonies for DAYS OF FUTURE PAST in Singapore -- *Loads of fans ( mostly young and many more women than men, it looked like ), some flying in from the Southeast Asian region and even from Japan, Korea and China. The premiere was held in front of what must have been a cinemaplex/mall and on the very wide sidewalk of the most prominent road in Singapore ( Orchard Road). Beautifully laid out carpet ( blue!), lined on all sides with huge posters of the movie...with the stage on one side. *Hugh was the first to arrive. He looked scrumptious in a light suit ( light beige or light grey - not too sure)-- he looked very handsome and his hairstyle really suits him well, especially with that facial hair. He dispensed with his bandaid/plaster and you can see the red patch on the side of his nose. But he looked very well! *He was very gracious -- signing so much stuff ( a lot of hand-drawn portraits of Wolverine and that famous portrait of the characters from ORIGINS from the crowd), shaking so many outstretched hands, and one selfie after another. He even carried a little boy in his arm for their picture together. He was working both sides of the aisles, with the media on one side... Onstage, he was very much at ease talking to big crowds ( I wonder if people realize that Hugh is a first-class host of events!) and said all the appropriate words. He said it was his second time in Singapore ( and did not forget to mention that he had a typical Singaporean breakfast that morning). One of the gifts handed to him by a fan was a pineapple ( not sure if it was a real one or a Chinese gift symbol for prosperity). When he entered the multi-storied mall for the cinema, he was waving and acknowledging the fans lined on the side of each floor! He could be quite a politician, if he wants to *He was accompanied on the carpet and the stage by Peter Dinklage and Fan BingBing ( wearing something like a real couture gown and looking gorgeous). Like Hugh, they spent a lot of time with the fans - signing, selfie-ing, and giving away giveaways...as well as taking interviews with local media and media who flew in from the region. The three make quite a team! On to Melbourne for the last part of the premiere rollout! And then to Perth for the inauguration of the Jackman Furness Foundation! I wonder if Deb is meeting him in Melbourne? Hugh must be looking forward to that one very much! Jo
