I don't know if it matters to any of us here ( to fanboys, every second counts ) -- but according to sources, the runtime of the movie is supposed to be 130 minutes ( 2 hours and 10 min), presumably excluding end-credits ( which could be kilometric because of the people involved in the CGI- lol).

But if they again include some end-credits scene for future glimpses of the plans for another movie -- the end-credits must be awaited with bated breath

Captain America: The Winter Soldier crossed the $100M mark ahead of the weekend and now has a local total of $107.6M. It’s the 2nd highest-grossing Disney film ever in the territory, behind last year’s Iron Man 3.

Hugh can reschedule his Perth appearance a few days -- he can fly back to Perth from Beijing? The Wolverine's biggest box office take from overseas was from China ( $ 40.6 M in 24 days of release).

3D Hollywood film "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is set to hit Chinese screens on May 23rd.

The American superhero film is a sequel to both 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand and 2011's X-Men: First Class, as well as a follow-up to 2013's The Wolverine. Its ensemble cast features Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Halle Berry. Chinese film star Fan Bingbing also acts in the film.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" sees the X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants, as seen in "X-Men: First Class". What ensues is an epic battle to change the past, and save our future.

The cast of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will soon be attending premieres at cities around the world, including Beijing next month.

So glad it's opening in China, a potentially very lucrative market that doesn't allow too many foreign movies into the country.

Hopefully, the simultaneous opening in China with the US release date may forestall significantly the piracy issues rampant in China. It is also the source of much of pirated discs that get circulated in the region. So, this is hats-off to the distributing arm of FOX for their deal. Jim Gianopulos, the solo Chairman now of Fox Filmed Entertainment, is known for his forte in distribution.

While IMDB lists our opening date as May 22, I have checked with two cinema complexes where I might see the movie for the first time and it looks like we might see DAYS OF FUTURE PAST open here on Wednesday, May 21. Wednesday is the usual date for new movies to open here.

LOL! I was just going to comment on that Montblanc ad with the tux! It's obviously the same as the Malasian magazine photo spread. How could the they do such a photo spread using Montblanc's pictures? Even the cover is surely part of the Montblanc photo shoot. <wtf>

The kind of marketing push Fox is doing is incredible -- in our region at least! Trips (plane fare and hotel) for two from countries outside of Singapore and tickets for all countries involved to the Singaporean premiere on May 14!

Hugh Jackman urged movie bosses to ditch his superhero character Wolverine's metal claws after he almost sliced off his private parts during a nude scene.

The actor thrilled his female fans by getting naked for 2013 film The Wolverine, but peeling off on set while wearing the razor sharp blades on his hands almost caused an eye-watering injury.

Jackman is adamant he enjoyed the "freeing" feeling of shedding his clothes, but producers were persuaded to replace the metal claws with a plastic pair when he came perilously close to cutting off his manhood as he tried to cover up in front of the female crew members.

He tells U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, "I quite enjoyed (being naked) really, it's a very freeing feeling... There was a very intense first scene and I insisted on a closed set. I ran round the corner and all the female members of the crew were gathered there. I tried to cover myself and cut my inner thigh - it was just the inner thigh thankfully! The metal claws had to go - you can't have bits and pieces flying off."

This was supposed to have been narrated during the forthcoming Graham Norton show ( to air on May 2) -- and I could be entirely wrong, but didn't this story seemed to have happened during the filming of the nude scene in XMEN -2 ? Maybe it happened again - this time in the bath tub scene for THE WOLVERINE ( but I don't think his claws were drawn out during that scene with the Japanese ladies...plus there was no running around the corner for that scene)? Maybe the one who wrote the article confused the two movies?



In this account, though, there is no mention of THE WOLVERINE as the movie where it happened --

Hollywood star Hugh Jackman has told how he suffered an intimate injury after trying to cover himself up in a nude scene while wearing his Wolverine blades.

The actor had been fitted with the lengthy metal blades on his hands when he tried to hide himself from female workers on set, leaving himself with a wound to the top of his thigh.


Jackman - who has played X Men character Wolverine several times - told of his accident as he appeared as a guest on tomorrow night's edition of BBC1's The Graham Norton Show.

The 45-year-old star said: "There was a very intense first scene and I insisted on a closed set. I ran round the corner and all the female members of the crew were gathered there.

"I tried to cover myself and cut my inner thigh - it was just the inner thigh thankfully. The metal claws had to go - you can't have bits and pieces flying off."

Jackman - soon to be seen in X Men: Days Of Futures Past - told how he has to spend six months training to get into shape for his role as the mutant superhero.

Due to the frequency of his appearances, he had spent a total of 18 months keeping his body in check for his most recent stint as Wolverine.

His co-star Michael Fassbender - also a guest on the chat show - praised his colleague's commitment to the gym.

"His discipline is incredible - he is up and in the gym at 4.30 in the morning, every morning," Fassbender said. "When we arrived there was a 'Jackman' effect and we all started training to try and keep up."

Wolverine, Magneto and Professor X aka Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy have been sharing stories from behind-the-scenes on X-Men: Days of Future Past.

From feeling old to close shaves with those Wolverine blades, the three actors dish on life on the X-Men set to Graham Norton. Here’s nine things we learned…


1. Jackman was called Woolfie on set. “There was no end to the disrespect,” he jokes.


2. Hugh Jackman’s wife has a "really serious crush" on James McAvoy.


3. Nicholas Hoult (aka Beast) made Jackman feel really old, admitting he remembers watching him from when he was “eight years old”. “I said ‘Stop right there, no more stories’,” Jackman reveals. “I felt like everyone’s uncle. I did feel like the old man.”


4. McAvoy, on the original cast teaming up with the new cast, says he chose to ignore that anyone else (ie. Patrick Stewart) had played the part of Professor X. “Even when I was going face to face with him I was still trying to pretend it was only ever me that had played the part.”


5. Fassbender on the other hand says he “stole everything” from his predecessor Sir Ian McKellen. “I actually didn’t get to do a scene with him but I spent a lot of time watching him on YouTube giving a workshop on Shakespeare and on The Scottish Play. It was weird, but I just listened to that on a loop.”


6. It takes Jackman a minimum of six months to get into shape for the part of Wolverine.


7. Fassbender reveals that Jackman gets up at 4:30am every day to go to the gym. “His discipline is incredible… when we arrived there was a ‘Jackman effect’ and we all started training to try and keep up.”


8. Being naked on screen didn’t bother Jackman. “It’s a very freeing feeling.”

LOL, Hoult is exaggerating, of course. If he saw the movie when it was first released, he'd have been 10 and a half. If later, closer to 11. He probably said that for comic effect.

Jo, I think you're right about when Hugh almost underwent a Super-plus Circumcision. During X2's filming, of course, he famously ran around the corner while nude and was met by female staff and Bryan Singer's mom, I think, waving dollars bills at him. I do think the writer was confused. Unless Hugh loves to run around corners in the altogether in every movie.

By the way, this was posted under TV Alerts, but as an extra FYI, Hugh will be promoting DoFP on Fallon on May 21.
