Hugh was interviewed for Chinese audiences ( obviously, this is a marketing ploy to reach the potential audiences for the 2nd or 3rd largest audience sector for this tentpole) -- v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNjkzNTc3MzAw.htmlHmm...he's never been to Hongkong? I thought most people on this side of the world ( Australiasia) would have been to Hongkong, if they travel extensively, as that would be a common travel connecting point. I guess travelers from Australia would use Singapore instead? He is missing the food paradise that is Hongkong! Hongkong is also one of the most cosmopolitan cities there is -a true melting pot of east and west! Jo

Hong Kong is the more formal name but I have also seen it written as one word. Doesn't matter -- I have only been to the airport in latter years (after they transferred the old one from Kowloon to HongKong island), to connect with flights to London. I used to go there more often before that as part of our yearly planning conferences ( it is just a little over an hour's flight and no visas are required) and for the delight of duty free shopping. But after globalization set in, with tariff liberalized, it lost part of its tourist attraction. But its location as a key financial center is still very important ( Singapore is competing...and of course Tokyo is on a different plane). For a while, it was considered as mainland China's listening post and gateway to Western capitalists...although as cities like Shanghai have become more and more cosmopolitan and assumed its role as a key financial center, HongKong ( or Hong Kong ) shares the spotlight now. The plan for the launch of the worldwide premieres has been announced ( check out the video featuring Hugh, James and Michael) -- www.deadline.com/2014/04/x-men-days-of-future-past-premieres-hugh-jackman-fox/ And the video link -- www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKJSYG3nSEwSo, it's going to be -- *New York ( May 10) *London (May 12) *Moscow (May 13?) *Singapore (May 14) *Melbourne (May 16) *Beijing *Sao Paulo No Antartica? LOL! I think Deadline forgot about the Hollywood premiere, which is supposed to happen on May 19 in L.A. My guess of the Hugh itinerary -- NYC/London/Singapore/Melbourne/maybe Beijing ...and LA, of course! Jo

I'm still confused about that May 10 New York date. Is the premiere May 10 or the previously announced May 23?

I'm still confused about that May 10 New York date. Is the premiere May 10 or the previously announced May 23? Ellen The US official premiere is May 23 for us ordinary folk! For the rich and curious there are big star studded Premieres in various cities ahead of the regular premieres for the masses...such as the ones listed in that article. Hope that clarifies. Sue

I guess I was thinking more along the lines of last year's THE WOLVERINE premiere, which had all the bells and whistles along with "ordinary folk" attendance. Doesn't look to be a repeat of that paradigm.

Hang on, Ellen -- maybe they might still unveil a similar premiere this year? Or at least include an opportunity for a good number of fans to share the first showing of the movie? I think I saw a publicity release from Australia that will fly a winner and guest to the premiere in NYC ( prize included plane and accomodations and tickets to the premiere). The Wolverine-kind-of-premiere was more like in keeping with the audience popularity of the franchise and the comic book series. Otherwise, if it were just a glittering red carpet premiere, why not hold the world premiere in Hollywood itself? Unless NYC was chosen for strategic travel purposes - it is much easier to fly them from NYC to London for the next leg ( or maybe even to Sao Paulo if the split team will fly there from NYC or even from London at about the same time)? Just guessing of course Jo

Doesn't look to be a repeat of that paradigm. Ellen I think these big premiere events do sell tickets in addition to the invited guests etc, but it's probably done in a special way. If you know where the premiere is being held you could call the theater for details. Sue

www.thedrum.com/news/2014/04/23/yahoo-and-twentieth-century-fox-agree-exclusive-content-deal-x-men-days-future-past*It would give fans a chance to be by the red carpet for the NYC and London premieres, without being there! *Hugh in 1999 -- I hardly knew ye ...But I did see ye on the stage of the Lyceum theatre in London close to the end of the run of Oklahoma!...and a few months later -- that was when the Jackman journey as Wolverine all began! Ye did audition once for the role of Logan, while in your Curly look ( perm in your hair and cowboy chaps, in between the show's musical acts). Jo

Logan with grey in his temple! There are some speculations that this is part of the end scene, when Logan finds himself reawakened and back to the ( new?) future in 2023, greeting some old faces as he walks in the famous corridor? A lot of speculations as to which old faces will be there waiting for him On the other hand, there are also speculations whether the storyline will end with the return of Wolverine to the original timeline or the altered timeline. *The Beijing premiere is still not dated - are they still waiting for formal approval for the release of the movie in China? It took some time for The Wolverine to be announced for a release in China. Hope the approval for DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is simply a formality now. *Or could they be waiting for Hugh to fly to Beijing after his concert in Perth on May 17? He is the only known actor in China of the whole ensemble, possibly with Fan Bing Bing. The Wolverine was very successful in its release in China. Jo
