My interest in APOCALYPSE has understandably waned ( unless Hugh gets another cameo)-- but there is a new TV ad promoting an XMEN-inspired car, in a tie-up for KIA, the Australian Tennis Open ( in two weeks time or so!), and APOCALYPSE. In 2014, it was a Wolverine-inspired car...this time it is supposed to be inspired by Mystique. Obviously my interest in this is not in the movie's XMEN but in the celebrity who is KIA's brand ambassador. Vamos Rafa! And XMen, too! Jo

A cause celebre! www.cosmicbooknews.com/content/sounds-hugh-jackman-wolverine-cameo-x-men-apocalypseBut look at this feedback -- Hmmm... If it is just a cameo, there is no need to grow full facial hair, unless he will segue right into WOLVERINE 3. He can just use fake facial hair and put on a wig. If they don't want to disclose it now and up to the first day of screening or even the premiere, people will know right away if he is or he is not doing any cameo. So, that won't fool the diehard Wolverine or Hugh Jackman fans! If I were FOX, there is nothing to lose by including a Wolverine/Jackman cameo. That won't take anything away from the main movie ( unless they are afraid that he can steal the whole show as he did in that FIRST CLASS cameo - but so what ??). Unless it is Hugh himself who has refused to do it! Not likely!! So, I guess my watching this movie ( especially in the cinema) will be on hold, until... Jo

In one of the mid-March interviews Hugh did for EDDIE THE EAGLE, he says he has played Wolverine eight times, counting the "cameos." To me, that means he definitely has a cameo in XM:A.

Ellen, Was that a lapse ( about the Greatest Secret Not Ever Told) or was he teasing XMEN fans again wolverine Unless he really counts The UNTITLED WOLVERINE 3 movie as the eight movie in 17 years! Jo

I think Hugh was inadvertently letting the cat out of the bag. And let's face it, that cat was more than halfway out of that sack anyway. Ellen

Not exactly a shocker, but nice to see it confirmed. OK, now I'll see this movie in the theater.

A trailer of APOCALYPSE was shown at Cinemacon ( to great cheers!) but no word on whether Hugh/Wolverine will be part of the movie even IF just a cameo ( although it is understandable to keep it under wraps for a cameo or the surprise element may not work anymore). deadline.com/2016/04/20th-century-fox-cinemacon-1201737578/

Hmmm, perhaps his "emotional" encounter with Hugh in the elevator prompted the cameo...?

I have always suspected something about Hugh's possible part in the movie not happening. I remember that in an early interview, Hugh said that Bryan told him that there might be a part for him in the movie. And it was probably the reason why he could commit to only 6 weeks of filming for EDDIE THE EAGLE because APOCALYPSE was being scheduled for a late-spring to summer shoot. Obviously, some things changed in the script and Hugh never joined the cast. But now there are persistent rumors of a possible cameo. So, maybe that was why their encounter at the elevator was somewhat emotional ( My overimaginative mind is thinking that maybe Bryan apologized for Hugh being left out from the project ?? ) -- because if everything had been straightforward I don't see what would have provoked a sentimental or even an emotional discussion.
We'll see...

Sorry, the site won't allow reproduction of the interview. Jo I just copied the part: Speaking of the Comic-Con panel you had some interaction with Hugh Jackman at that panel that was very entertaining and in the end was a little difficult to decipher. SINGER: I know, we also ran into each other in the elevator, which was even more bizarre. In my hotel I went down to the basement suddenly the door opens up and Hugh walks in and it’s like ‘Oh, I’ll see you later? Maybe? I don’t know?” So we played it all out on the elevator before we even went on stage. No, we just, I pointed out that there’s not been an X-Men film that has not featured Hugh Jackman, and he pointed out that he appreciated the opportunity I had given him years ago and it was very emotional. We actually were side by side watching that video. We were next to each other next to the stage, sort of arm in arm kind of looking at each other and listening to it and remembering those days. It was very emotional and we pointed this out to each other. There are a lot of characters, it’s a complicated movie, it’ll be interesting to see what happens. Was that as a vague as that bullshit we did at the panel? (laughter) It wasn’t bullshit, it was very heartfelt. It was fun, it was spontaneous. Nancy
