It looks like they flew back to NYC?
Maybe to rest some more... and to check with his voice doctor ?

Grazie, Sue Hugh is looking good, other than nursing his vocal cords! Where is EATALY's first restaurant? I thought it originated in NYC EDIT:It looks like the first restaurant/megastore was in Turin in northern Italy ( Agnelli country?). Jo

I also thought it was a New York-based store/market/restaurant and that he might be home when I saw this because I've been to the one in Manhattan - in fact, during our first trip to NY for The River in November. But then I saw Hugh's mention that this was the Zorlu Center, and my Italian husband set me straight that it was a big chain. Agnelli country indeed. My husband is from southern Italy, but he has relatives in Turin, which we visited some years ago. And we're Juventus fans.

LOL - there was a response to his instagram message which assumed that he was back in NYC - because of the NY restaurant I've been to Milan, but never to Turin. Juventus - isn't that part of the Agnelli holdings? But sorry, I don't follow football that much. My Italian team is Ferrari - and that is in Maranello/Modena, although also part of Agnelli holdings via FIAT (although there was a recent unloading of the holdings, wasn't it?). Sono una tifosa della Ferrari - my fractured attempt at rooting for FORZA Ferrari! smiley-love029 I love Southern Italy -- I have been to the Naples/Capri/Sorrento corridor -- but I have never been to the Amalfi coast! Thanks again for that bit of info re EATaly Istanbul Jo

Yes, the Agnellis are longtime owners of Juve. We're also Ferrari fans, the de facto "Italian national team" of car racing. But if we ever get a car from them, it'll definitely be a FIAT and not a Ferrari! Too bad neither is that practical in snow country where we live.
The Amalfitano coast is gorgeous, just leave the driving to somebody else. Yikes!

I've been to the coastal places of western Italy ( from Nice/Menton, France to Rome) but only journeyed southwards to the Naples/Capri area -- never to legendary Positano! I also like central Italy ( the Emilia-Romagna region -- Tuscany, Florence, Sienna, Assisi, etc -- did you ever see the film adaptation of that movie about Tuscany called UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN( with Diane Lane)? I've seen Ferrari race three times, but that was so long ago. Yeah - the road cars are to admire, not to buy Hugh and Deb were once photographed in one of the F-1 garages in Melbourne -- but it was at a McLaren Garage! How could Hugh smiley-signs066...LOLOL! But Hugh is such a sports nut -- he was watching how the cricket matches were coming along, even if he was on holiday in Istanbul and was nurnsing his vocal cords! Jo

Ah, so did you get to the Cinque Terre, lovely lovely area. We toured from north to south (the VERY south, Calabria and Sicily, where my husband's family is) on our honeymoon many years ago. Definitely included Florence and Siena and lovely wine country on that trip. And Capri. More recently, we flew into Rome and again spent time with our kids visiting Pompeii and Positano and points further south. It definitely helps to be accompanied by (and married to) a native-speaking tour guide. And he did indeed navigate the scary curvy roads along the cliffs of the Amalfi peninsula. In a mini-van the second time!! But yes, back to Hugh. It seems he has left Istanbul yesterday - I can't quite follow the translation, it seems Turkish translates awkwardly to English in these automated algorithms - but maybe there was some upset with paps? And some mention of him being back in 2 months?! www.hurriyet.com.tr/kelebek/paparazzi/28516905.asp

Thanks ...It is almost fun to traipse between the translated words to get the gist of the report *It also said that he flew to Munich, so he must be returning to Bavaria for continuation of the filming for EDDIE THE EAGLE. *If he plans to return to Istanbul in two months, that will probably be after he has completed filming of EDDIE THE EAGLE ( which will transfer to the UK in April)). Hope that is also in accordance with what his doctors prescribed? *Hmmm... it is beginning to look less likely that he might be joining APOCALYPSE? Unless his filming commitments will not be due till the second half of the movie's filming schedule ( closer to June?). *Re the paps incident -- it seems the airport security was too strict...and Hugh did not mind talking to them? He has always handled the paps well and they even have a good word or two about Hugh's graciousness. PS: Italy is a lovely place to visit - I think I have been there at least 3 times. I have actually been to Pompeii twice and it is such a hot place to visit ( but of course very illuminating about early Italian culture). I have also been twice to Venice...and to Milan... plus a bit of the Italian Alps ( close to the Bavarian Alps where they are filming EDDIE THE EAGLE. I have been lucky because part of my trip was on official visits ( Milan and Rome) where are our bank maintained remittance offices. Rome and the Vatican have always been part of all our visits to Italy. I have seen many movies/docus featuring Positano and he Amalfi and have read many articles on these places ...and they must be really beautiful over there. I have not been to the southernmost parts ( the boot ) and the islands - it must be very interesting to see those places, too. Ciao! Jo

Hugh should drop out of every commitment until September. It's making me crazy that he's even thinking about working and using his voice before then. Vocal chord injuries are serious. Overuse could cause the loss of his singing voice for good. I was a voice major, and I've seen this happen. As a former vocal music teacher, listen to me Hughie..............."SHUT UP AND REST YOUR VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!"

Nobody of us knows how serious it is. I'm sure he and his team know what is the best for him and won't act irresponsibly! Even though some of you apparently have no interest in his current movie projects and aren't thrilled about a show in Istanbul, but he has his commitments and won't just cancel everything if it isn't necessary. Would you say the same if he had a Broadway show? I'm sure he and his team know what they do!
Btw, Hugh's least favorite word is "should"!

I'd feel the same way if he was about to open in CAROUSEL on Broadway. Nothing is worth permanent voice damage.

So Patrick, JJ and Brian are back, too--along with Robin, Anne, Lara and Emily. I guess he'll have fully recovered his singing voice by then.

On the other hand, when he sent out a special video message to someone suffering from health issues -- He sounded back to his normal speaking voice. So maybe that early morning message in the snow was just the usual raspiness associated when one has just woken up

LOL -- not sure if it was the 100 meters which he jogged, maybe more like his stomach growling for breakfast which sent his voice to lower decibels

Even his hair has roles in different movies ( Wolverine, Van Helsing, The Fountain, Les Miserables, Pan, Chappie, etc...now Eddie the Eagle) That hair in the photo message is part of the look of Bronson Peary - I think it is called a flat-top - the movie mainly takes place during the Calgary Winter Olympics of 1988! Haha - it does look odd But who knows with Hugh -- maybe the rumored APOCALYPSE cameo is true and he may be trying to grow it a bit more for a Wolverine look in the 80's Although he probably has a month or more of filming still to go as "Bronson", in the UK presumably ??
