In Sydney --
Despite the chaos in letting the audience in ( which caused a delay in opening the show), media personality Lisa Wilkinson tweeted that the arena is packed to the rafters...and Hugh has been charming his townmates esp with photos of his youth (the track star!).
He's also getting support from TV personality Angela Bishop... & musical theatre star David Campbell (they both appeared in the Mackintosh tribute concert in 1998).

Someone named Melissa Hoyer captured part of the concert via Periscope. Hope someone can catch any replay.
PS: It seems she is also a media personality - maybe she will be showing the clips for public consumption?

Abi Worland danced with Uncle Hughie at his Sydney show. Gussy was one proud Dad!
Sorry I'm not able to post clip posted by the Grill Team.

Thanks, hughmanity.
ONCE BEFORE I GO became Hugh's signature song during the yearlong run of TBFO. It was the eleven o'clock number... and created the rare Broadway mid-show standing ovation, which happened in practically every performance for TBFO. Although the song was written by Peter Allen for Ann Margret's show, it has now become Hugh's regular farewell song.

Hope you can catch the clip of Hugh singing about all the places in Australia he is supposed to have been to! It's such a tongue-twister that he could not finish it without laughing hysterically!

I'm back I'm so excited to report that Hugh's special singing guest was an actor named Russell Crowe! Will look up if there are any clips. Jo

I am not kidding, but I seem to have the feminine intuition working overtime when it comes to Hugh and Russell. When Hugh moved to the Sydney leg of his concert tour, I had wondered that after he had featured Melburnian Andy Lee ( and Hamish Blake), if there is a chance that he would invite his fellow Sydneysider and friend Russell Crowe to sing The Confrontation with him Even earlier, I responded to Ellen's question on August 26 about the possibility of Russell joining Hugh onstage in Sydney -- Just like when casting for Les Miserables was being rumored -- When I went to see Hugh's first tryout concert in San Francisco in early May 2011 I had a chance to meet him at the stagedoor. I asked him if he was going to be Valjean and Hugh replied that he was working on it. Then I told him that Russell Crowe would make an excellent Javert. Hugh said " That would be good!"...Little did I know that maybe the casting of the two was already being discussed...or maybe not yet I'd like to see them do another movie together!

It's too tempting not to replay the duet from the film adaptation
