Great sleuthing work finding it, Jo. They both sound terrific. Now, keep your fingers crossed as I'm going to the concert on the 13th! Please, please, please, Hugh, find a way to be there!!! I wonder if there is word on whether Hugh can make it to the Brooklyn concerts or not? I am not optimistic about that -- given that he might be wrapping the filming of WOLVERINE 3 that same weekend or the next. Jo Excited for you -- even without Hugh, that should be a great concert with the likes of Barbra ( I know I am biased ). Hope Hugh will be able to make it ... but don't set your hopes too high. Unfortunately, WOLVERINE 3 is wrapping that weekend ( according to a tweet from director James Mangold) or very shortly thereafter --- so the chances that Hugh will set another priority sound close to nil He is also wrapping his film career as WOLVERINE, so if he choses to forego singing with Barbra, it has to be also because of what the film role has meant to him career-wise. Enjoy yourself with the music from the show! If he turns up - well, maybe he has chosen to teleport himself ( he is not a mutant for nothing) for that concert -- well... share with us all the joyous moments Jo

There is no reason to assume that Hugh films until the very last day of shooting. He can also fly to NY in a short amount of time.

Hugh is not only the lead actor in this farewell Wolverine movie, but importantly he is also a much-involved producer of the movie, so it is likely that his presence would be important and much appreciated when it wraps up! The movie is his and James Mangold's baby -- I imagine he would want to be there for the wrap -- also for the cast/crew celebration that may occur... The other possibility is that there could be a delay in the wrap -- the original date was for August 19, but Mangold has tweeted Star Wars director Rian Johnson that he is likely completing his wrap around the week ending August 14. We'll see. The film is due out on March 3, 2017 -- so Mangold has only 7 1/2 months or so for post ( and this is a superhero blockbuster!). Are you going to the concert? Hope he turns up ...for the sake of all the Hugh and Babs's fans And even for those who can't make it -- maybe that might be the concert that Babs may decide to release a video from And I had also hoped that his appearance in a Barbra Streisand concert would boost the box office attraction for THE GREATEST SHOWMAN ON EARTH when it hits movie screens, even if it would be a year away. Thanks, Jo....I am excited to see Barbra no matter what. My hopes for a Hugh appearance are "realistic", especially, as you point out, given the nature of this film project. But one can dream! Hughmanity -- I am also green with envy -- Barbra is my favorite female vocalist. I have many of her albums ( and my favorite Sondheim song is I REMEMBER -- which Babs had adapted to fit the Christmas theme of her album)...One of my favorite Barbra songs is PEOPLE ( after all, the very first Broadway show I saw was FUNNY GIRL, only weeks after I first came to America). And I do not know how often I have seen her in HELLO DOLLY! I am so glad that Hugh and Babs are having tremendous success with their duet -- the praises from everyone ( and even more so those coming from people who are unaware that Hugh Jackman is a triple-threat) fill the heart. People love the song and its sentiments ( even if some find it too poignant)and many love the blending of two fantastic voices...plus the dramatic context in which the song was given. Hey, someone even said Hugh sings like an angel ( I wonder what he will say to that ). One other thing which struck me -- Hugh is such a humble person, despite the fame and the adulation ( especially from fanboys and females) -- I thought his confession about not knowing how on earth Barbra came to choose him for her duet partner sounded so sincere and so fresh...and his excitement when he assured Deb that he certainly would do the duet was so typically Jackman vain-less ( if there is such a word ). Again, hope you enjoy the concert -- and please share the big moments, Hugh or no Hugh Jo

This was the background on the choice of song ( and maybe even on the choice of duet partner). She became familiar with it right before her very good friend and colleague Marvin Hamlisch passed away. She had already intended to make it a core song for an album with "actors who sing" using Broadway material, which she intended for a future project. And if we are familiar with the old story -- during the time when talks were rife that Barbra was in talks with ALWebber for a film adaptation of Sunset Boulevard, it was said that she expressed a desire to have Hugh Jackman play the role of Joe Gillis. Of course nothing happened. And we are also familiar with the story of Hugh and Deb's first visit to Barbra's house ( where he met Oprah, Sidney Poitier, etc)...and how he and Deb were jumping up and down with joy on the driveway after the party. It's by her friend Marvin Hamlisch, so that makes sense! articles.latimes.com/2012/aug/10/entertainment/la-et-cm-barbra-streisand-marvin-hamlisch-20120810This was right after Barbra heard about the fairly unexpected death of Marvin Hamlisch -- I am glad that it is a relatively unknown song, but Barbra thinks it is brilliant! It seems a very special song for her...and I am glad that she is singing it with Hugh. Many of the other songs have many versions...this is going to be more of a debut! Jo

Thanks for the good wishes, Jo! My favorite early recollections of Barbra include watching her perform with Judy on The Judy Garland Show. My dad said he'd never heard anyone who could out-sing Judy like this newcomer. Of course, Barbra really took off just as Judy was going through hard times at the end of her career. Also, I remember dissolving into tears at the end of the movie version of Funny Girl, when she walks into that spotlight and starts singing..."oh my man I love him so". Wow. So, looking forward to seeing Barbra in MY hometown - lol - and I will report back! Hughmanity -- I am also green with envy -- Barbra is my favorite female vocalist. LOL- someone has blogged about ANY SECOND NOW in the blog title and referred to the song in the blog as ANY MINUTE NOW. Somehow they did not seem to connect to the sentiment of the song ANY MOMENT NOW Jo

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07ldrqsHer scoop for the show is the first public play of The Duet (aka ANY MOMENT NOW ), featuring West End veteran Hugh Jackman and Barbra Streisand Very poor programming -- she played it close to the end of the show. No comments at all! Followed it with the rest of the songlist that the she had on deck. And she kept referring to the duet as a Barbra Streisand exclusive -- duh -- it is a duet and it is not as if Hugh was not able to hold his own with the legendary songstress The only thing I really appreciated is that the track is so much clearer than the uploads on YouTube. Someone from BWW shared this SET LIST - not sure if this is from the Dress Rehearsal or from the actual first night of the concert series : Not sure either whether there were guests ( Seth McFarlane and Jamie Foxx...or the technological splicing with he voice of Anthony Newley) or the songs were simply identified from the album list as such...or whether the songs from the new album will be changed from one concert venue to another.

A short clip was featured On Australia's breakfast morning TV ( The TODAY Show)...and perennial commentator on Hugh Jackman, Richard Wilkins, said there was no pressure singing with Barbra Streisand I actually did not think that the prospect of singing with an icon like Barbra gave Hugh many nervous moments. As always, he probably had hours and hours doing vocal lessons with Joan Lader, watched many Streisand movies and listened to Streisand albums, recalled how he faced the 2009 Oscars audiences, adopted the Aussie attitude of " Have a Go!"...and meditated for hours

Billboard posts a clip of the Barbra/Jamie Foxx duet of CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN. www.billboard.com/articles/news/7469440/barbra-streisand-climb-every-mountain-jamie-foxxSorry, but I find Jamie's singing less impressive here compared to the promotional clip much earlier posted. Patrick Wilson confirms he is returning on Saturday. I am surprised at the choice of song between Barbra and Patrick. It is LOVING YOU from Sondheim's PASSION. It's only a little song, poignant, but not breathtaking... and is sung by the slightly demented character of Fosca. I wonder how it works as a duet -- they are both fine vocalists, so maybe their treatment is more impressive compared to the stage cast recording. I had seen the musical in London, with Maria Friedman as Fosca. Jo

The crowd responded dramatically only because they sang this song like a show stopper. Patrick Wilson sang beautifully. Gorgeous, clear voice. He and Barbra did the dialogue lead ins but pretty dull song.

Well, I held on to my hopes until the house lights went on (especially since I thought he had wrapped in New Mexico), but alas, it was not to be. Still, wonderful to see a living legend, and I thought both Patrick Wilson and Jamie Fox were outstanding.

That would have been nice - but it seems the last days of filming, as expected, were particularly exhausting ( and probably what had produced that tired-looking photo of Hugh ) -- so it's time for a long break before he delights us with his singing ( although we won't hear it till December 25, 2017 ). I will have to wait for the album to hear how all the duet partners sound with Barbra. But good to hear that the concert was as wonderful as you hoped! Jo

From someone from ATC --
"Barbra more than compensated with a deeply felt perfomance."
As Hugh said -- the truth in her singing!
Something equally praiseworthy in Hugh's singing, according to Barbra!
