Johnny Cash's son John Carter Cash was on a morning TV news show showing some memorabilia from his late dad. As they cut to a commercial, Cash's cover of -- what else? -- "Hurt" was heard. The song is feeding publicity for LOGAN and vice-versa.

HURT, the way Johnny Cash sang it, is a powerfully emotional song. And it fitted the theme of LOGAN perfectly -- not too sure though that it is really working all that well with all the other faux-LOGANish re-interpretations of other trailers/assembled scenes. But it is certainly putting the forthcoming LOGAN movie into the cultural consciousness. No complaints here It is probably not just coincidence that it was chosen for the LOGAN trailer. Jim Mangold did create the biopic of Johnny Cash and probably understood his message more than most people. Mangold also said he worked on the trailer with the marketing people shot by shot -- so his melding of his LOGAN work and the music which underlie Johnny Cash's life (in WALK THE LINE) reached that happy place of perfect fit! PS: I have wondered how Hugh Jackman would interpret the song HURT. Have you? In a way, it reminded me of that song retrospective in THE BOY FROM OZ called ALL THE LIVES. And Hugh can sing a ballad just as soulfully in an intimate place ( not the stage).Jo

Another dramatic and almost poignant scene as Logan seems to have rescued Laura from captivity. Their tale is very intriguing but suggests a sad evolution at this point in Logan's life. I hope the ending is a little more hopeful, even if Logan has to face his own mortality!

It looks like the Hugh and Patrick photo is not from the movie but a photo taken on set by James Mangold -- That was why I thought Logan/Wolverine was uncommonly solicitous to Prof X in the photo still -- it seemed more like a gracious Hugh Jackman asking Patrick Stewart if he was doing alright I could be wrong though ... and maybe that is really part of LOGAN Jo

This is from the first XMen movie -- There was emphasis on the mentor relationship with Prof X...and a bit of filial relationship with young Rogue. Will this theme be repeated in the final Jackman/Wolverine movie called LOGAN?

Now I want to see if the "Nerds Brat Pack Never Satisfied" will complain with the usual tedious tirades. In fact, he seems to come straight from the original comic pages.

POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT*********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT ********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT********POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERTThis is interesting -- a new poster at IMDB on the LOGAN Page has given a few comments, based on what he said is an early cut of the movie that he has seen. These are his posts on IMDB to-date : Also by the same poster -- For whatever it's worth! Assuming he really had a chance to see an early cut !The one big surprise is the supposed Wolverine clone, known as X-24! Are we going to see two of Hugh Another Root...but this time, the double will be a villain, according to the IMDB poster
