What his tennis colleagues say of him -- x.com/i/status/1844366940644462835I never had a chance to see him. But my niece who was attending a medical conference in Barcelona and plays tennis said she had a chence to watch him in a match. She said you would not believe the sound he makes with the ball when he he hits it with his remarkable forehand! But what attracted me to this tennis champs since the mid-2000 decade was the time I saw him in a CNN interview -- complete with his broken English and unbelievable charm as he humbly and gamely fielded the questions ( I think he had just won one of this 22 Grand Slams then). So long, Champ! Jo

In today's Formula One race in Brazil, reigning champ Max Verstappen delivered a true and exhilarating master class! Starting at 17th place (due to penalty for engine change & unable to complete his qualifying lap due to a red flag situation) and in heavy rain and a newly resurfaced tarmac ( some drivers complained how bouncy the track felt - hard on their bodies) -- he ended the race as Winner with near 20 seconds to spare.
Everyone was calling it a true master class not seen since for a long, long time.
I have never been so excited to see the hour-and-a-half racing under the pouring rain!

Vamos Y Adios, Rafa Nadal!
I have never seen a more emotional farewell to arguably ( and some say so) as the best athlete in sports history ( for his game, fighting spirit & code of conduct) as that given to Rafa Nadal today at the Davis Cup.
So many touching words from so many sports pros and sports media.
Many changed their avatar today to use Rafa's signature BULL avatar
But the most emotional was a very long letter of farewell and message of admiration and well-wishes than from his greatest rival, the legendary Roger Federer! It was a very, very long letter and so many said they teared up when they read the fond farewell to a rival and a friend.
Did I tear up ... Of course... they showed him holding the Spanish flag at the Davis Cup when he hurst into the scene at 14 years old. He is now 38 and he was clearly emotional when the Spanish anthem was played in today's Davis Cup match. He is one athlete who never left his country to avoid taxes ( as so many flocked to Monaco to do that) - and when there was a national catastrophe besetting his country - he was at the forefront. So, it was no surprise that on his wedding day, the King of Spain went to attend it...
His son, a 2 year old boy was fixed on his Papa's last professional game ...and someday people hope that Rafa, Jr, has inherited his father's athletic ability & code of sportsmanship and bring on a new generation of tennis fans.

They built a statue at Roland Garros to honor Rafa Nadal a few years ago!
