genius.com/Various-artists-never-enough-lyricsNEVER ENOUGH[Verse: Loren Allred] I'm trying to hold my breath Let it stay this way Can't let this moment end You set off a dream with me Getting louder now Can you hear it echoing? Take my hand Will you share this with me? 'Cause darling without you [Chorus: Loren Allred] All the shine of a thousand spotlights All the stars we steal from the nightsky Will never be enough Never be enough Towers of gold are still too little These hands could hold the world but it'll Never be enough Never be enough [Post-Chorus: Loren Allred] For me Never, never Never, never Never, for me For me Never enough Never enough Never enough For me For me For me [Chorus: Loren Allred] All the shine of a thousand spotlights All the stars we steal from the nightsky Will never be enough Never be enough Towers of gold are still too little These hands could hold the world but it'll Never be enough Never be enough [Post-Chorus: Loren Allred] For me Never, never Never, never Never, for me For me Never enough Never, never Never enough Never, never Never enough For me For me For me [Outro: Loren Allred] For me

FROM NOW ON
I saw the sun begin to dim And felt that winter wind Blow cold
A man learns who is there for him When the glitter fades and the walls won't hold Cause from then, rubble What remains Can only be what's true If all was lost Is more I gain Cause it led me back To you
From now on These eyes will not be blinded by the light From now on What's waited till tomorrow starts tonight Tonight Let this promise in me start Like an anthem in my heart From now on From now on
I drank champagne with kings and queens The politicians praised my name But those are someone else's dreams The pitfalls of the man I became For years and years I chased their cheers The crazies be always needed more But when I stop And see you here I remember who all this was for
And from now on These eyes will not be blinded by the light From now on What's waited till tomorrow starts tonight It starts tonight And let the promise in me start Like an anthem in my heart From now on From now on From now on
And we will come back home And we will come back home Home, again! And we will come back home And we will come back home Home, again! And we will come back home And we will come back home Home, again!
(From now on!)
And we will come back home And we will come back home Home, again! And we will come back home And we will come back home Home, again! And we will come back home And we will come back home
(Yes)
Home, again! And we will come back home And we will come back home Home, again! From now on
These eyes will not be blinded by the light!
From now on!
Whats waited till tomorrow starts tonight! It starts tonight! Let the promise in me start Like an anthem in my heart From now on From now on From now on!
And we will come back home And we will come back home Home, again! And we will come back home And we will come back home Home, again! And we will come back home And we will come back home Home, again!
From now on From now on Home, again! (Oooo uuuu) From now on From now on Home, again!

[Verse 2: Hugh Jackman] I see it in your eyes You believe that lie That you need to hide your face Afraid to step outside So you lock the door But don't you stay that way! genius.com/Various-artists-the-other-side-lyricsTHE OTHER SIDE[Verse 1: Hugh Jackman] Right here, right now I put the offer out I don't want to chase you down I know you see it You run, with me And I can cut you free Out of the treachery and walls you keep in So trade that [?] for something colorful And if it's crazy, live a little crazy You can play it sensible, a king of conventional Or you can risk it all and see [Chorus: Hugh Jackman] Don't you wanna get away from the [?] 'Cause I got what you need So come with me and take the ride It'll take you to the other side 'Cause you can do like you do Or you can do like me Stay in the cage, or you'll finally take the key Oh, [?] suddenly you're free to fly It'll take you to the other side [Verse 2: Zac Efron] Okay, my friend, you want to cut me in Well I hate to tell you, but it just won't happen So thanks, but no I think I'm good to go 'Cause I quite enjoy the life, you say I'm trapped in Now I admire you, and that whole show you do You're onto something, really it's something But I live among the [?] and we don't pick up peanut shells I'll have to leave that up to you [Chorus: Zac Efron] Don't you know that I'm okay with this uptown part I get to play 'Cause I got what I need and I don't want to take the ride I don't need to see the other side So go and do like you do I'm good to do like me Ain't in a cage, so I don't need to take the key Oh, [?] can't you see I'm doing fine I don't need to see the other side [Verse (?): Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron] Is this really how you like to spend your days Whiskey, misery, and parties you [?] [Zac] If I were mixed up with you, I'd be the talk of the town Disgraced and disowned, another one of the clowns [Hugh] [?] you would finally live a little, finally laugh a little Just let me give you the freedom to dream a little Wake you up and cure your aching Take your walls and start unbreaking [?] Now that's a deal, that seems worth taking But I guess I'll leave that up to you [Zac] Well it's intriguing, but to go would cost me greatly So what percentage of the show would I be taking [Hugh] Fair enough, you'd want a piece of all the action I'd give you seven, we could shake and make it happen [Zac] I wasn't born this morning, eighteen would be just fine [Hugh] Why not just go ahead and ask for nickels on the dime [Zac] Fifteen [Hugh] I'd do eight [Zac] Twelve [Hugh] Maybe nine [Zac] Ten [Chorus: Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron] Don't you wanna get away to a whole new [?] 'Cause I got what you need, so come with me and take the ride To the other side So if you do like I do So if you do like me Forget the cage, 'cause we know how to make the key Oh, [?] suddenly we're free to fly We're going to the other side So if you do like I do (To the other side) So if you do like me (We're going to the other side) 'Cause [?] we're going to the other side We're going to the other side

Re the anthemic THIS IS ME, which is getting forecasts for Oscar/awards glory -- Sometimes we forget that it was Hugh who introduced the song THIS IS ME to us That was 2 years ago this month, before that now famous February 2016 workshop/reading, which persuaded FOX to give its greenlight for the film project! Maybe I can share this now -- I heard that FOX did not want him to do it ( a public airing of the song). But Hugh persisted and he won Fox over. "It was originally written for a female vocalist. He just loved it so much that he requested a new arrangement specially for this arena tour." So, the song came to us through his Broadway to Oz concert. Too bad the full clear version that we first heard was only a Periscope glimpse that had been taken down. We still have the version from the unofficial recording in Sydney showing Hugh singing the full song. At around 42'45", Hugh starts to sing the full version -- Hugh's version is a more muscular version ( and I don't mean it because he is a man) -- powerful and inspirational rather than Keala's more emotional and also inspirational version. Ironic that Hugh ( who is probably one of the most gifted human beings - looks/talent/personality/accomplishments -- to be singing a song that is an anthem for people who are less gifted but have found their place in the sun)! Supreme irony! Jo

"Perhaps, finally musical theatre, pop music and film can co-exist beautifully once again?"That would be such an accomplishment in today's culture! Like a musical VENN diagram I just hope Broadway fans are also open-minded about this cross-cultural linkage. Sometimes, they sound too inward-looking. But it is amazing that it is Broadway names ( Hugh Jackman, the team of Pasek&Paul, and even Keala in a unique way) which are bridging the gaps! Jo

Remember this tweet from Andrew Keenan Bolger ( from NEWSIES) who joined the February 2016 workshop --
The comparison is probably even more pronounced in the second part of FROM NOW ON --

Hugh finds what he says is his most comfortable singing voice. He has moved away from his previous style of singing...with new vocal lessons. www.playbill.com/article/why-hugh-jackman-hated-his-own-voice-until-the-greatest-showmanHe did say in another interview that it was Pasek & Paul who suggested to him that he explore another singing style ( maybe more cast towards modern song interpretation). Thus the move towards singing lessons with Liz Caplan? He is a high baritone -- does this lead towards a wider range of songs for him to interpret? I wonder what he means -- that he is no longer going to sing in the usual musical theatre style, such as the way Curly sang in OKLAHOMA! or how he sang some ballads in THE BOY FROM OZ? Or is he adapting the new singing interpretation style because the score of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN calls for such a style? Or that modern musical theatre is now leaning towards a more contemporary singing approach? Maybe it is me, but I am not too sure about the more pop style for his singing voice. One of my favorite musical interpretations from him is that version of OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING from the Mackintosh concert. That is musical theatre at its best for him... but I guess it is his own preference and level of comfort that matters! We'll see... Jo

I was a voice major, and sang in college vocal groups. You don't use the same style in Handel's Messiah that you use in "Moon River".

Hallelujah!! Why do people stand up when a certain musical passage in THE MESSIAH comes up, Kathy? I saw/heard that a very long time ago when someone asked me to go to that concert and I did notknow much anything about this classical piece.

I saw/heard that a very long time ago when someone asked me to go to that concert and I did notknow much anything about this classical piece. Jo Legend has it that the first time it was performed, King George was so moved by the Hallelujah Chorus, that he stood up. Since the King stood, everyone else had to stand. Some also think that His Majesty stood up because he was tired of sitting. Regardless of the origin of the practice, it has become the custom to stand during that movement of Handel's Messiah.

I remember in early interviews, HJ said that during the audition for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST in Australia, he simply copied the singing style of the person teaching him, as he was advised to do. Perhaps that's why he felt his early voice wasn't his own, and why he abandoned work on that CD he had started with Richard Marx. Still, I like that voice.
I agree, Jo. I think he sounds wonderful in the HEY, MR. PRODUCER Macintosh concert. That's my favorite rendition of "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning," too. I confess to having a preference for classic full-throated, Broadway-style singing.
But I still think he sounds great on the TGS soundtrack, too. I'm with you, Kathy. I've heard plenty of "switch hitting" from style to style. Lots of opera stars record pop albums with great success.

Do you remember his singing in PAPERBACK HERO -- he sang a pop song "Crying"? I wonder, is it because he enjoys pop music more than musical theatre music? Not unusual -- Michael Ball, once the leading star at the West End and has a beautiful and glorious voice, actually has pop music as his favorite genre But is his voice more suited to any particular genre..or is it flexible? Pop music fans never liked his vibrato, which was apparent in Les Miserables. But I am all for it! I guess we think he is very suitable for musical theatre because -- *He has the powerful lungs for stage singing ( when I discovered him on the OKLAHOMA! stage, it was his powerful stage voice which made me take notice -- I couldn't even see his face too well as I was seated in Dress Circle)...that, plus his stage presence! *He has the personality to portray many iconic musical theatre characters...very strong stage presence! *Sunset Boulevard was perfect for him -- as it combined very strong acting with very strong singing with its sung-thru format and some great solos/duets ( Loved TOO MUCH IN LOVE TO CARE)! He could have given William Holden a run for his money had there been a film adaptation of the musical and Hugh played Joe Gillis! He is high baritone but does he enjoy singing in the lower baritone range? Also, I do like his Christmas hymn singing voice a lot -- the last one we heard was in that Washington DC concert with the Obamas as primary guests. Angels We Have Heard on High -- I was very proud of his singing then! And one of his earliest hymns was BETHLEHEM MORNING. Of course when he joined CAROLS FOR A CURE, it was a Christmas pop song ( WRAPPED UP NICE?). Hmmm... is he saying all these things because he wanted to explain the switch in singing style for THE GREATEST SHOWMAN? Well... So long as he continues singing Jo
