Another beautiful cover of a song that seems to be attracting the most attention with young people --
A MILLION DREAMS, this time sung by a finalist from THE VOICE talent show --

Look who's singing A MILLION DREAMS! Technically, it is not all COVER because she did sing the reprise with their father and her younger sister. The ballerina daughter of Phineas and Charity, Austyn Johnson!

Yay. For the first time tonight I heard the broadway station on Sirius XM play something from the soundtrack. So much fun to drive to THE GREATEST SHOW

Bear with me as I try to tie up the Grammy wins to the chances of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN for Grammy Awards (while looking at the 2018 winners) -- *"Best score soundtrack" seems to be referring to the film scoring ( as in LA LA LAND, where only Justin Hurwitz was recognized) *Best compilation soundtrack refers to the practice of movies to use song materials from other sources ( not originally composed for the movie - which is very, very rare). *Best Song Written for Visual Media -- is the equivalent of Best Original Song at the Oscars? At the moment, there is no Best Soundtrack Album category ( for movies) because of the extreme rarity of a complete album created for a movie. Will THE GREATEST SHOWMAN be considered under this category because it is not a compilation album from other sources at all? Will Hugh Jackman be considered as a / or the principal soloist ( similar to the Bette Middler example for Hello Dolly) or will the main cast including Keala be considered as all principal soloists ( as in Dear Evan Hansen)? Long wait for next year's GRAMMY Awards Jo

I svored 10. I guess listening to the entire CD as I’m on the treadmill had an effect. Ellen

Goosebumps!
I do wish Lea Salonga, with her crystal-clear voice, would do a cover of this song!

When my worlds collide: GREATEST SHOWMAN featured on the morning show I've been listening to on my way to work for 26 years. Seriously, nice interview with Keala, Pasek and Paul...and a guest caller!

There is so much connection among those involved in this project. It's apparent with the way Keala, Benj, and Justin ( and Hugh ) relate to each other on both the professional and personal levels - that camaraderie and sense of artistic collaboration is reflected in songs like THIS IS ME...and all the other songs in this movie musical. Benj and Justin seem so down-to-earth...and yet so talented. And they did well with the contemporary tones in this period musical! Like speaking to us, the audience! Their songs, starting with THIS IS ME, together with many instances from the spoken word, carry so many messages to all of us Thanks for the link to the interview PS: I discovered another connection between Hugh and Keala on a personal level - their fathers are both English! That's probably what led the two of them playing backgammon on the set PPS: I wonder why Keala calls Hugh "The Egg" ? Such as from "Egghead", maybe? From Hugh's love for study and self-discovery all the time, perhaps ? Jo

Maybe because Hugh was instrumental in "hatching" or birthing the whole project? When I heard Keala say "the egg," I immediately thought of the song of that name in the musical "1776." The song uses an egg as a metaphor for the "eaglet being born"; that is, the birth of a new nation. Anyway, that's my take.

That sounds more like it, Ellen! When you spotted her at THE RIVER, did you ever think that someday Keala will gain her kind of fame now because of the Hugh connection Jo

And I have remembered this photo when they were still in rehearsals for the movie -- That looks like Hugh ( wearing a Global Citizen T-shirt) ...and seated next to him looks like Keala? Jo
