Words of Wisdom

One of my favorite parts about the show is how Hugh talks to us in between songs. When Hugh shares stories about his family or words of wisdom, I am truly engaged. Two moments where I found myself making a mental note was when he shared about potentially getting fired from a movie. He went home to Deb, his wife, to share the turn of events and she told him to trust yourself! What a simple statement but also powerful. It really helps to hear this as a reminder to always trust ourselves when things are not going as planned.

The second moment that struck my soul was after the Dear Evan Hansen song, “You Will Be Found”. I sang along with tears filling my eyes. At the end of the song, Hugh shares a message that he would go back and tell his 8-year-old self. Oh man, what great words to awaken the mind and shift your perspective.'

“Define yourself by how many people pick you up when you fall.”

The show continues on with a song tribute to his dad that starts out sweetly and ends with a humorous note. The fact that I was there with my father for the evening made this moment very special.

While sitting in Houston’s Discovery Green Park on a very warm Tuesday afternoon 90 degrees to be exact, I had the most surreal experience. Mr. Hugh Jackman came strolling up the sidewalk and paid a visit to his team working the coffee truck and kindly took photos with his fans.

I had the pleasure to shake his hand and thank him for always reminding us to believe in ourselves and move on from our pasts. Hugh shared with me that “We must let go of the past because our bodies are not meant to hang to it”. He believes that hanging on to past will hold us back and not be a healthy way to live. I shared with him that my personal journey and goal in life is practice letting go and learn to follow my heart.

It is a process that does not happen overnight. However from wise words that I learned from one of my family-friends, “you can do anything with the power of positivity and determination!”

The usual patter between songs in a concert are not generally that interesting, but in this case Hugh makes the show even more engaging because of his between-songs narratives.

Tom Ford was excellent in designing the Jackman costume ( by not upstaging the singer) -- this image is so compelling, showcasing the public persona of Hugh Jackman,Performer!

Quite a number saying they're in for repeat patronage! #tmtmts-a-lot!

Maybe they are celebrating a special occasion and decided to do it by seeing the show...or they just want to honor the performer, but it is also lovely to see folks dressed up for the occasion.

An unfortunate side story we have seen in the other tour dates in Europe -- contending with traffic or transport fail to the arenas.

But hope this tweeter makes it on time!
