It will be seen as having bought so much joy to people who have watched it despite what some of the so-called theatre cognoscenti are saying

I wouldn't be surprised if we see repeat patronage for this show!

Had a great time at The Music Man last night - we've had these tickets since Fall 2019! It's hard to not be smiling throughout the show - so many songs that I haven't heard in awhile and everyone on stage is clearly having a blast. The kids - so many making their debuts - are excellent and the barbershop quartet men are hysterical. Hugh Jackman is as charming as ever, I've never seen him on Broadway before but did catch his solo show pre-covid. He is a true entertainer! It was wonderful seeing Sutton again - haven't seen her on stage since Violet I believe and I have worn out Shrek on Netflix by now. I feel the Marcellus role was under-utilized, felt like he used to be a bigger role but Shuler Hensley does a nice job. Jefferson Mays makes Mayor Shinn more memorable than I could recall. I'm bummed so many on the board have not enjoyed this production so far. Is it worth a $200 ticket? No but I don't think anything really is. My wife had never seen The Music Man and she enjoyed it a lot (she loves Sutton Foster). You cannot help but leave the theater singing and humming the songs!

It looks like dance has taken a new special place in the minds and hearts of people ... and even young minds.

Is it the influence of people enjoying themselves dancing on tiktok and the like?

Is it the kids taking more to dance as their preferred activity compared to singing ( look at all those clips of kids copying Hugh in The Greatest Show). It seems singing is more and more a group activity for them?

I've also seen a lot of clips with group dancing ( such as health workers to relieve themselves of stress).

The success of The Greatest Showman was due to a lot of things, but its modern choreography was one of the major
reasons (such as From Now On) !

Gwen Eyster
I saw it last night - one of my favorite musicals of all time. It's a love letter to rural Midwest living, where I grew up. I got to play Amyrills as a kid and dance the Shipoopi as Ethel Toffelmeir as an adult.
This production was a fresh look at the material and the heart is there, flowing from the entire company. Did my soul so good during these unstable times!

These are amazing pics! You two are a dream team! My son's high school wasn't going to have a musical this year- but the music director reached out to me to ask if I'd direct! We're doing The Music Man. He cast my son as Harold Hill 🙂. I made my meager beginnings as Amaryllis back in 1983 and have been in/ choreographed the show three times since 🙂. Things have come full circle! We are hoping to bring some of our cast to NYC to see you and Sutton work your magic on stage. We are all huge fans! Here's to keeping kids in theatre and keeping the dreams alive!! ❤️🙏🏼. Thanks for inspiring us to carry on!
