Broadway revival of ‘The Music Man’ starring Hugh Jackman & Sutton Foster to release Official Cast Recording!

Accidental Jacket Entertainment will release the Official Cast Recording of the critically acclaimed new Broadway revival of Meredith Willson’s THE MUSIC MAN, starring two-time Tony Award®, Grammy Award®, and Emmy Award® winner Hugh Jackman as Professor Harold Hill and two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Marian Paroo.

The album is produced by seven-time Grammy Award® nominee Robert Sher, in partnership with producers Brian Gillet and Huck Walton.

The two-day recording session with the complete original cast took place earlier this week at Manhattan Center. An official release date for the recording will be announced shortly.

The cast recording will feature the rest of the original cast, including Tony Award winner Shuler Hensley as Marcellus Washburn, Tony Award winner Jefferson Mays as Mayor Shinn, Tony Award winner Jayne Houdyshell as Mrs. Shinn, and Tony Award winner Marie Mullen as Mrs. Paroo, Remy Auberjonois as Charlie Cowell, Gino Cosculluela as Tommy Djilas, Emma Crow as Zaneeta Shinn, Benjamin Pajak as Winthrop, Kayla Teruel as Amaryllis, Garrett Long as Ethel Toffelmier, Linda Mugleston as Alma Hix, Jessica Sheridan as Maud Dunlop, Rema Webb as Mrs. Squires, Phillip Boykin as Olin Britt, Eddie Korbich as Jacey Squires, Daniel Torres as Ewart Dunlop, Nicholas Ward as Oliver Hix, Lance Roberts as Constable Locke, Max Clayton as Standby for Harold Hill, and Nick Alvino, Jordan Beall, Ronnie S. Bowman Jr., Maria Briggs, Audrey Cardwell, JT Church, Kammie Crum, Aydin Eyikan, Carlee Flanagan, Ethen Green-Younger, Emily Jewel Hoder, Curtis Holland, Eloise Kropp, Ethan Lafazan, Kayla LaVine, Andrew Minard, Sean Montgomery, Tanner Quirk, Daniel Patrick Russell, Ann Sanders, Sherisse Springer, Mitchell Tobin, Kathy Voytko, Branch Woodman, and Ryan Worsing rounding out the Ensemble.

The album is executive produced by Steve Shultz, and is co-produced by Marc Levine, Evan McGill, Patrick Vaccariello, and David Garfinkle.

THE MUSIC MAN, directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle, is currently playing to sold-out audiences at the Winter Garden Theater.

THE MUSIC MAN creative team includes four-time Tony Award winner Santo Loquasto (Scenic & Costume Design), five-time Tony Award winner Brian MacDevitt (Lighting Design), Tony Award winner Scott Lehrer (Sound Design), Luc Verschueren for Campbell Young and Associates (Hair, Wigs, & Makeup Design), Tony Award winner Jonathan Tunick (Orchestrations), David Chase (Vocal and Dance Arrangements), and Patrick Vaccariello (Musical Director).

THE MUSIC MAN is produced by Barry Diller, David Geffen, Kate Horton and Fictionhouse.

Broadway's current revival of Meredith Willson's The Music Man, led by Tony winners Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, has recorded a cast album for Accidental Jacket Entertainment in label partnership with Time-Life, with a release date to be announced in the coming days. The cast was in the studio at Manhattan Center to record the score July 25.

Cast Recordings Available to Stream Now
Caroline, or Change
The Tony Award-nominated Broadway revival of Caroline, or Change, slated to start in March 2020, opened on Broadway to much acclaim in October 2021. Diana The Musical
Preserved in more ways than one, Diana The Musical only lasted a short while on Broadway but lives on through the musical’s original Broadway cast recording. Led by Jeanna de Waal, Roe Hartrampf, Erin Davie, and Tony Award winner Judy Kaye, stream the cast recording here.

Flying Over Sunset
Originally scheduled to begin performances on March 12, 2022, the day Broadway shutdown, Flying Over Sunset finally took its Broadway bow, officially opening in December 2021. A 2022 Tony nominee for Best Original Score and featuring a Tony Award-nominated performance from Carmen Cusack, listen to the album here.

Girl From the North Country
The final musical to open before the shutdown in 2020, Girl From the North Country returned to Broadway in the fall of 2021 and received seven Tony Award nominations, including a win for Best Orchestrations. Mr. Saturday Night

SIX
After fans rallied for a recording of Broadway’s original SIX queens, SIX: LIVE ON OPENING NIGHT featuring Adrianna Hicks, Andrea Macasaet, Abby Mueller, Brittney Mack, Samantha Pauly, and Anna Uzele, was released in May 2022. Feel like a royal and stream Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ Tony Award-winning score in the first original Broadway cast recording ever recorded live on opening night here.

A Strange Loop
After winning the Tony Award for Best Musical, it’s time to get A Strange Loop into your music library. Featuring the original Broadway cast, stream Michael R. Jackson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical here.

Paradise Square
Originally announced to be released in May, the original Broadway cast recording of Paradise Square has yet to be released. Stay tuned on Broadway Direct for updates on the recording that’ll feature the Tony Award-nominated score led by Tony Award winner Joaquina Kalukango.

Into the Woods has also announced a cast recording release.

Why that revival ( COMPANY) has made a business decision not to release a cast recording has nothing to do at all with The Music Man!

I have been able to listen to the cast recording via Apple Music. It seems it has been released in certain Apple Music markets.

Not going to spoil it for you -- all I am going to say is that it is an excellent companion piece to the show. Best listened to if you have seen the show. As it is, you will get an idea of how this revival is more adept at presenting the Willson tale of his beloved River City and its characters AND strangers who come to town

But it is also quite a temptation to make a last effort to see the show as it includes many unexpected pieces from the show.

When I see it the last time ( 2 times more) -- I would have listened to this recorded show music quite a number of times...and I am sure my appreciation of the show will be soooooo much better then!

It has NOT disappeared. It is at the tailend of the double reprise of Goodnight My Someone/Seventy Six Trombones.
