So, many leaks now that talks may have started in 2019.

I wonder -- was that before Hugh had agreed to take the role of Harold Hill in TMM? The TMM announcement was made in March 2019. Rudin must have announced it immediately after Hugh decided he was not (yet) returning to the role of Wolverine?

Or since The Music Man was not originally due to open till Sept 2020, they may have been discussing if filming of a movie with Wolverine's return was possible before the Broadway show opened.

He never realized that TMM which was supposed to open in Sept 2020 (and was likely ending his stint in Sept 2021) would actually open in December 2021 and will close a year later.

The problem with this take is how differently the Joker can be portrayed. Heath done an exceptionally good job at showing the unhinged ruthlessness of the joker especially in the criminal world. Also was a direct comparative to Bruce. Joaquin Phoenix done a brilliant job too

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is back! His return also occurs in an unbeatable setting: with the Deadpool of his good friend Ryan Reynolds and as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It sounds like a dream come true, which it is! but it is not without risks. After all, what the actor has done seems easy, but it hasn't been at all.

Wolverine is one of the most popular characters in all of Marvel Comics history. Perhaps second in importance only behind its flag hero Spider-Man. For that reason alone, the challenge of finding the ideal actor to play him was already great and the surprise was greater when Fox opted for a completely unknown Australian.

The hairstyle of the print was replicated without problems, not so an element as emblematic as the height. The one in the comic measures 1.60 meters, while the chosen one wanders through the 1.90. Of the musculature it is not even said, because the histrion himself has confessed that he felt too fragile during his first incarnation. But in the end, he ended up convincing us all, which marked a 17-year-old, 11-movie performance that made Hugh Jackman a world-class star and a superhero movie legend second only to Christopher Reeve's Superman.

But unlike the warriors in the comic book, the actors are not eternal. Not even the biggest ones. The Australian hung up his claws, presumably forever, in March 2017 with the premiere of Logan, leaving many hearts broken and countless outstanding accounts for those of us who always dream of more. One of them was a worthy encounter with Deadpool and another an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The risks of return
Despite its success and longevity, it would be absurd to deny that the X franchise was always marked by irregularity. It had low points, but also very high ones. Hugh Jackman was not responsible for the former at all as he always performed outstanding work, but he was a key player in the latter. He starred in some of the highlights of X-Men 2; silenced all purists in Days of Future Past; and touched the sky with Logan.

This latest film, which was supposed to mark his final goodbye to the character, is considered by many to be the greatest superhero film of all time. Those who consider it so point to the way in which it breaks the canons of the subgenre to opt for a "neowestern" with sci-fi dyes and that triumphs in the objective of giving peace to a character marked by torment. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, being the first film in the subgenre to be considered for one of the Academy's five main categories. Many also demanded his presence in the shortlists of Best Film and Actor, which finally did not materialize.

Picking up Hugh Jackman's Wolverine after Logan is a challenge that should not be taken lightly. For the creative team of Deadpool 3, who will have to justify the return. Not from the narrative, which should not represent any problem because of the metanarrative nature of the mercenary and because the multi-award-winning individual film takes place in an alternate line. Rather from the emotional point of view, should it be taken up again after such a masterpiece? Even more so for a film that will make us forget the drama experienced to appeal to action and irreverence.

It will also be complicated for the actor, who explained at the time that while he would like to play the character for life, it was increasingly difficult for him to reach and maintain the physical form necessary to do so. It will reach the goal, but it will hardly reach the peak seen in Wolverine Immortal and Days of Future Past.

Finally, the return per se. It is not given for an individual film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, nor for a reunion with the X-Men, nor for a crossing with the Avengers. It is given as a luxury secondary, but a secondary at last. In addition, with a character whose nature makes the canon of incorporation uncertain. Should it be seen as a definitive leap into the Marvel franchise? Only time will tell.





And even so, it is worth dreaming
If there is a project that has excelled at achieving what seemed impossible, it is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He did it with the first crossover in history, the expansion of superhero cinema into space, the alliance between franchises, the multiversal opening and more. All this, always appealing to the comic but without losing sight of the properties of cinema.

The president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, has reiterated to the point of exhaustion that the mutant incorporation would be gradual and would only materialize when the scenario was ready. He has bravely endured the demands of fans who wanted an immediate debut just to ensure the best for everyone. The return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is not blind, it occurs because all parties agree that it is worthy for the character, the actor, the plots he intertwines and especially the fans.

And then? Anything is possible. With multiversal wars just around the corner, an alliance with heroes from other worlds should not be ruled out. It would be, without a doubt, another worthy goodbye for our tireless hero. Perhaps, now, the definitive one.

"Do they never die?" claimed Toad in the first installment of X-Men, in a brilliant nod to printed immortality. Back then, comic book lovers saw the line as a joke. Today as a reality. Because sure enough, legends like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine never die. Mutant and proud.

If there is anyone who believes in the worth of his key projects, it has to be Hugh Jackman! Presumably, it took years to persuade him to don the claws once again.

Presumably the storyline and how it may bridge the "universes" may be worthwhile pursuing for him.

Thus Wolverine will serve another purpose?


In the meantime, the prospect of a buddy road comedy, Rashomon style, seems to be derived from the original idea of D-3, before the Fox/Disney buyout.

Deadpool 3 is finally official, as Ryan Reynolds dropped the announcement on Twitter a few weeks ago. The actor did more than merely reveal the film’s release date. He also confirmed that Deadpool 3 will bring back Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Sadly, Marvel then delayed the release date as it reshuffled its schedule. But with more than two years left to wait, it looks like we already got the first Deadpool 3 plot leak.

The main point of Deadpool 3 is to somehow bring Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) to the MCU. The Merc with a Mouth resides in a different reality, as Fox handled all the X-Men movies until 2019.

Therefore, we expect Deadpool 3 to be a multiverse story even without seeing any plot leaks. Whatever happens by the end of it, Deadpool will find himself in the MCU. That’s the only way to team up with the rest of the Avengers in future crossovers like The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.


The Deadpool 3 plot leak

We haven’t seen any significant Deadpool 3 leaks so far, with the film’s writers teasing a few months ago that we’re looking at a fish-out-of-water plot for the movie. We also know from Kevin Feige that Marvel has ambitious plans for this particular episode.

But the moderators of MarvelStudiosSpoilers surfaced a Deadpool 3 plot leak from an unverified source. The mods do say they have reason to believe the information isn’t genuine, according to information from one of their verified sources.

The leak claims that Deadpool 3 is Wolverine’s “one and done” MCU movie. It’s a father-and-son story about Logan and Daken. Logan had a kid during the events of The Wolverine, but he doesn’t know it.


The first time the two meet and fight, Daken is supposedly sucked into the MCU. And Daken will end up being the MCU’s primary Wolverine, according to the leak.


Deadpool is there to meet Hugh Jackman for drinks, the leak claims, but the two get involved in a multiversal road trip to the MCU to find Daken before he becomes evil. Deadpool will eventually stay behind in the MCU to look after Daken, while Logan goes back to the Fox universe, where he needs to be for the Logan continuity.

The plot leak says the Deadpool 3 timeline is messy, “but it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

“It’s more or less a movie where Deadpool and Logan will be hanging out, exploring universes, and making fun of every MCU trope along the way,” the leak notes.

The film’s villain is not Daken, however. It’s another unnamed mutant who can harness the power of dimensional travel. This person supposedly uses Cerebro in the Fox universe to reach the MCU, taking millions of mutants along for the ride.

That would be crazy, and it could open the door to all sorts of mutant adventures in the MCU.

Again, this Deadpool 3 plot leak comes from untrusted sources, so don’t get too excited about it

There’s the classics like Paris Hilton vs. Lindsay Lohan, the epic, like Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, the shocking, like Kylie Jenner against Jordyn Woods, and then there’s the fake, like Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.

The two actors, who are actually good pals, orchestrated their beef over a decade ago and have kept up the charade for the public’s viewing pleasure ever since.

Jackman, 52, and Reynolds, 44, first met on the set of their movie “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” in 2008. Reynolds and ex-wife Scarlett Johansson had just gotten married — though they divorced two years later — and Jackman had a lot to say on the matter.

“I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett [Johansson], and Scarlett had just married Ryan, so when he came on set I was like, “Hey, you better be on your best behavior here, pal, because I’m watching,'” Jackman told The Daily Beast in April.

He continued, “We started ribbing each other that way, and then it all escalated with the ‘Deadpool’ thing and him calling me out, and trying to manipulate me through social media to do what he wanted.”

Jackman even admitted that it was hard to really pinpoint how it all started since it’s been so many years.

“How did it start? It’s gone back so long now,” Jackman told the website, adding, “God, this is a classic sign where your feud has gone too long, where you don’t even know why or how it started.”

The “Deadpool” star decided to get his revenge years later when he razzed Jackman on social media.

As a refresher, Reynolds and Jackman were both winners of People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2010 and 2008 respectively.

Reynolds pretended to be Jackman while wearing his burn prosthetics and a full face of makeup from filming “Deadpool” –Australian accent and all.

“G’day mate! Hugh Jackman here just reminding you to get your votes in for People’s Sexiest Man Alive. Cover’s coming up,” Reynolds said in the video.

Jackman was clearly in on the fun as he was the one who shared it on his own Twitter. “Presenting … ME by HIM. @vancityreynolds #SMA,” he had tweeted.



January 2016


Reynolds took a jab at a Jackman during a “Deadpool” promo celebrating Australian day, calling their movie “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” a “career low” for him.

“Happy Australia Day…One tiny problem [Australia], you gave us ‘Wolverine’ and for that – I can’t forgive you,” Reynolds said dressed in his full “Deadpool” costume.

He then singled Jackman out directly.

“I’ve got no problems with Hugh, I mean, he’s a delightful guy he really is. True legend. But that movie was a career-low for me, you understand,” he joked.

Reynolds then took his “feud” with Jackman to the big screen.

In “Deadpool,” he removes his mask to reveal that he is wearing another mask underneath — a paper cutout of Jackman’s face.

This further fueled the fire and made for some great comedic relief during a very serious moment in the action film.

At this point, Jackman is ready to throw it back in Reynolds’ face.

Jackman posted a photo smiling with his arm around Reynolds, but did he really want him there?

Reynolds has a sit down with Jackman to interview him about his movie “Eddie the Eagle” but shows up ill-prepared.

Reynolds asks Jackman about playing the character named Eddie, to which Jackman responds that was not his role and asks if he really saw the movie.

The “Deadpool” actor then asks a fake fan question from someone named “Bryan Breynold,” asking, “I heard that on ‘X-Men Wolverine,’ you had specially designed lifts put in your shoes so you would appear taller than one of your co-stars.”

Jackman answered like a true professional, saying, “That’s true … but everything in that movie was about advancing story and character.”

His next question was a fan with the name “Blake Lively,” aka the name of his wife, asking about meeting up with Jackman while Reynolds is scheduled for a mani-pedi.

Now it’s Jackman doing the impersonations.

Jackman used a paper mask of Reynolds’ face as he spoke about the “Deadpool” actor receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“@vancityreynolds asked me to post this 100% real video by him on being honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame today,” he tweeted along with the video.

He then went on to poke fun at Reynolds with a small speech.

“How could a guy who failed his high school drama class be this talented?” Jackman said as he pretended to be Renolds. “I have no answer to that. But to quote my favorite actor in the world Hugh Jackman, and who by the way was people’s sexiest man alive way before me, [America is] the most generous country on the planet. And feel free to urinate on my section of the sidewalk.”

Reynolds doesn’t believe that Jackman could have adoring fans.

He trolled the Wolverine actor while he was doing press overseas.

“Thanks for an amazing visit Beijing! @wolverinemovie @20thcenturyfox,” Jackman had tweeted along with a photo of several local fans.

Reynolds quickly responded to the post, writing, “Pretty sure those are protesters.”




April 2018


Jackman took his relationship with Reynolds to the next level while wishing him happy birthday in a video post.

Dressed in a bathrobe, Jackman was sending a birthday message to Reynolds when the camera pans to Reynolds himself dressed in his “Deadpool” costume while reclining on the hotel room bed in the background.

Reynolds begins singing different songs to interrupt the message and Jackman quips, “Yeah, don’t give him too much attention. That’s why I can’t be with him.”

Reynolds seemingly slammed Jackman’s marriage to wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

Jackman posted a photo with his wife in honor of their anniversary, writing, “I believe in life we need to see and truly be seen by the most important people in our lives. Deb, from day one, we had that. 22 years later … it only gets deeper. You and the kids are the greatest gift I will ever receive. I love you a gazillion times around the world.”

But Reynolds thought it was doomed from the start. He responded to the tweet, writing, “I gave this 3 months. Tops. I was wrong.”




August 2018


Reynolds jabs Jackman yet again in “Deadpool 2.”

In the scene when Deadpool blows himself up, he plays a music box sculpture that pays homage to Jackman’s character Wolverine.

Deadpool flips the bird and says, “f–k Wolverine. Well guess what, Wolvy? I’m dying in this one too.”

After the credits of “Deadpool 2,” a clip plays of Reynolds as Deadpool travels to stop himself from starring in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”




October 2018

Jackman decides to give another birthday shoutout to Reynolds, but not without throwing some shade.

“Because I’m told that I AM THE NICEST GUY and you’re NOT. @vancityreynolds … I will let you hug me. Just this once. On your birthday,” Jackman tweeted along with a photo of him hugging Reynolds.

But Reynolds quickly shuts down Jackman’s claim that he’s nice.

This man is a monster,” Reynolds responded. “He’s not even from Australia. He’s from Milwaukee.”

Things turned nasty between the two actors when Reynolds decided to release a political attack ad against Jackman.

“How well do you really know @realhughjackman?” he tweeted along with the video.

He then goes on to say, “Hugh Jackman isn’t even his real name. It’s Hugh Michael Jackman. Hugh Michael speaks with a charming accent, but he’s actually from Milwaukee.”

He adds, “He then walked off the job on Wolverine, adding to unemployment. Is this the type of amazing actor and nice person we want delivering a preachy liberal speech this awards season?”

Jackman swiftly responds with a counter-attack ad against Reynolds.

“Who are you going to trust? Me or @vancityreynolds?” he tweeted along with the video.

“Ryan Reynolds may seem like an honest, hard-working movie star, husband and father – but don’t let the facts get in the way of the truth,” Jackman says in the video. “The truth? He’s been riding on Hugh’s coat tails ever since 2009, when Hugh hand-selected him to star in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ in the universally acclaimed best portrayal of [Deadpool] Wade Wilson. Ever.”

He then notes that while they were both voted People’s Sexiest Man Alive, he said, “He was only named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2010, the year after he met Hugh. Coincidence? Please.”

Jackman reamed up with Jake Gyllenhaal in his next attack against Reynolds.

The two pals pranked Reynolds by telling him that a holiday party was an ugly sweater party.

“These a——s told me it was a sweater party. @realhughjackman #JakeGyllenhaal,” Reynolds tweeted.”

When Reynolds showed up in a green and red sweater with a big gold bow, Jackman and Gyllenhaal had the final laugh.




January 2019

After several years of jabs and smack-talk, Reynolds and Jackman call a truce in the name of caffeine.

“Official truce with @realhughjackman!” Reynolds tweeted along with pic of him with Jackman.

He explained, “As a gesture of goodwill, I’m gonna make a beautiful ad for his company, Laughing Man Coffee. Can’t wait!”




February 2019


A month later, a video explaining their truce dropped on Reynolds’ YouTube channel.

“Ryan and I recently called a truce in our social media war and we promised to make ads for each other,” Jackman said. They then play the ads they made for each other.

Reynolds shows a beautiful ad that he said he worked on 24/7 and cost a million dollars to make. But when it was time for Jackman to reciprocate with an ad for Reynold’s Aviation gin, he wasn’t as friendly.

“Ryan Reynolds is a complete and total f—ing a—–e. Gin’s pretty great though. I’ll have to try it some day,” Jackman said in his ad before opening the bottle of gin and letting it spill all over the table.

Jackman then apologized saying, “Sorry man. I didn’t think the truce was actually real.”

And the feud continues.




December 2019

Reynolds has his holiday revenge on Jackman when he convinces him to match in the same sweater he was pranked into wearing the year before. However, Reynolds doesn’t end up wearing the ugly sweater and it’s Jackman left looking like a fool.

“I can’t believe I agreed to wear the matching underwear too,” Jackman tweeted.

“I don’t recall mentioning underwear,” Reynolds joked in response.

Jackman and Reynolds decided to bury the hatched for a good cause.

The actors announced that they were putting their feud on hold so they could join together for the All In Challenge that helped raise money for charities that help feed Americans amid the pandemic.

They first gave a short summary on their online war and then Reynolds said they “agreed to agree not to disagree and only a pandemic could make that happen.”





They joined together to raffled off a chance to have them both come work for your child’s lemonade stand.

Later that month though, Jackman revealed that their feud was not over and their wives made them make up for the cause.


“We’re in extraordinary times,” Jackman told Hoda Kotb on the “Today” show. “Deb actually said to me, ‘Look, really, this is a time to rethink all that. Maybe it’s time to build a bridge.’ I wasn’t ready for that, but actually, Blake reached out. So Blake and Deb have been brokering this thing and we came up with participating in the All In Challenge.”

He even took a dig at Reynolds, saying, “We’ve been reaching out to Blake, we talk to her, because can you imagine quarantine stuck in the house with Ryan? It must be brutal for her, so we’re reaching out.”




April 2020

Reynolds takes another shot at Jackman as a husband on his 24th anniversary with Furness.

“These 24 years have been the best of my life! And, as far as I can see, we keep getting better. I love you Debs with every fiber of my soul. Happy anniversary. #24” Jackman wrote in an Instagram post for his wife.

But Reynolds’ response wasn’t so sweet.

“Hang in there, Deb,” he commented on the pic.





September 2020

Reynolds stepped in yet again to help Jackman with his Laughing Man Coffee advertisement, seemingly ending their beef.

The “Deadpool” actor narrates the ad where Jackman is seen waking up grumpy, throwing his alarm clock, yelling at his cute dog, and not perking up until he has a sip of his coffee brand.

But things took a turn yet again when Jackman tweeted the ad saying, “An honest glimpse into a day in my life,” and Reynolds quipped, “You sleep with the wig on?”

Alas, enemies, they remain.




October 2020

Yet again, Reynolds and Jackman decided to use their faux feud for a good cause.

“We’re bringing our Feud to @samsclub,” Jackman announced, adding, “I only agreed to do this because it’s for 2 great foundations. And, it’s always an awesome day when I get to humiliate @vancityreynolds.”

With Maximum Effort also continuing on as a film production company and digital marketing agency since launching in 2018, Reynolds and his team released a new video on September 27 to provide an update about the progress of planning Deadpool 3, which included a surprise teaser that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine alongside Reynolds as Deadpool in this next movie sequel.


Following this much-discussed entertainment news all across social media over the past several days, I had to ask Reynolds how it feels to be bringing his hilariously unpredictable superhero character back to the big screen, this time with Jackman and his Free Guy director Shawn Levy, and whether he has seen any of the positive reactions from fans since his big announcement.


“I couldn’t be more excited,” Reynolds reveals. “I mean, especially to do it this way. Ultimately, I get to work with some of my closest friends in the world and that doesn’t happen every day working in this business. I’m thrilled and I’ve been sitting on those couple of teasers for a few weeks now. It’s one of those moments where you’re hitting send or a tweet or a post - your hand is shaking when you’re messing with the zeitgeist in a way like that. It’s been amazing. I feel the same way that the fans do, though. I feel as excited that this character is coming back for another ride, particularly in this context. I think it’s something that people have wanted for a long time, to get this pairing up on the big screen, and that’s what we aim to do.”

Maybe at that time ( Opening Night/Feb 10,2022), the Deadpool 3 project was already being explored. There was the presence of the trio (Hugh/Ryan/Shawn). Plus I had always wondered why Hugh would take in Shawn's daughter ( who was still studying) as his PA (unless it was a favor, so she could get practical experience credit for her academic course). But maybe that was more to ensure confidentiality of any material being exchanged? Plus she only stayed for a short time.
