According to Midgard Times, pre-production on the Ryan Reynolds-led threequel has begun, and filming is scheduled to start later this year on May 22 at Pinewood Studios in London, with the second unit working in Vancouver.

The second unit does not involve filming scenes with the main actors.

The second unit of a film is a crew that is responsible for shooting supplementary footage; this includes establishing shots, stunts, inserts, and cutaways. This crew is separate from the first unit, which is the team that films scenes with the leading cast.

In June 2016, five new stages and 10 new workshops were opened at Pinewood.[13]

The Walt Disney Studios announced a 10-year lease of most of the Pinewood Studios in September 2019, to start in 2020.[16]

An £800m expansion of the studios used for the filming of the James Bond and Star Wars franchises has been approved.

Pinewood Studios, near Iver Heath in Buckinghamshire, submitted plans for a 1.4m sq ft (130,064 sq m) expansion to build 21 new stages, a training hub and a publicly accessible nature reserve.

Buckinghamshire Council has signed off the proposals.

Pinewood Group said the expansion would make it the "biggest studio complex in the world" and create 8,000 jobs.

Of course we still have to get official confirmation from Marvel Studios if these plans will become reality, as indicated!

Marvel fans may be getting back-to-back films and shows, but when it comes to the character of Deadpool, it's a different level of excitement. And this time it is also different because this will be the first instance Deadpool will make his entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is already surrounded by many superheroes and gods and has encountered many conflicts.


The excitement is about to reach a new level as we are hearing that Deadpool 3 has already started prepping up (pre-prod) to begin filming this Spring. As per the current schedule, Deadpool 3 is set to kick-off filming on May 22, 2023, in London, UK at Pinewood Studios, this is where Marvel Studios and Disney shoot most of their titles. A second unit filming will also take place in Vancouver, BC, Canada, for which the dates are yet to be revealed (it may happen parallelly), this shoot will generally include outdoor shoots and the leading cast may get involved for a few days, but nothing is confirmed yet. The filming is expected to wrap sometime in October (tentative).



Deadpool 3 will see the return of Ryan Reynolds in the fan-favorite character of Merc-with-a-mouth along with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who is coming out of retirement. In the film, which will be a sequel to Deadpool 2, Reynolds' Wade Wilson aka Deadpool uses Cable's time machine to travel into the future to save Wolverine from dying. Logan does not know who that guy is and wants him gone but using a time machine and changing history gets them on the TVA's radar.


Along with Jackman and Reynolds, the film will star Emma Corrin, who is playing the role of a villain, the details about the British actor's character are not yet known. Owen Wilson as Mobius, Leslie Uggams, and Patrick Stewart is also rumored to return to the iconic character of Professor X after his cameo in the Multiverse of Madness. There could be other X-Men characters who might make an appearance in this film.




Deadpool 3 will also mark the first film in this franchise which will be produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige. Deadpool and Wolverine have been together in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was released in 2009. However, in the film, Deadpool was not in his regular costume as he was presented as an experiment in the Weapon X program and tasked to kill Wolverine. The film was heavily criticized for Deadpool's appearance.



Writers of the first two films Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have penned the script for the third film as well along with Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin. Shawn Levy is the director of Deadpool 3, making it the third collaboration with Reynolds after the Netflix film, The Adam Project and Disney's Free Guy.


Deadpool 3 is currently set to release in theaters on November 8, 2024, as part of MCU Phase 6.

Is that why he sang BRING HIM HOME in a lower range? It is usually sang with a falsetto. That was in 2012, when he has completed 3 XMen team movies and one solo (Origins:Wolverine).

BHH was written for Colm Wilkinson's tenor range and he sang most of it in falsetto ( so did other Valjeans).
However I thought Hugh's vocal interpretation was more suitable -- he looked too big physically to be singing in the more effeminate falsetto. PLus dramatizing the song seemed more apt being closer to a baritone sound. To me, the song was also about warring emotions he felt for Marius before he eventually realized that losing Marius would be devastating for his daughter... so the eventual soft plea for his deliverance.

Wolverine needs some Listerine.

Hugh Jackman, who plays the beastial mutant in the X-Men and Wolverine films, told BBC Radio 4’s Front Row that the roles required growls that have affected his vocal range.

“My teacher at drama school would have been horrified by some of the things I did in Wolverine,” he said. “I’ve done some damage to my voice, through playing Wolverine.”

Jackman, who also has a strong song and dance segment to his career on stage and in films, added that his roaring is to blame for taking something away from his skills. “My falsetto is not as strong as it used to be, and I put that down directly to some of the growling and yelling I did.”

Despite the damage, Jackman has revealed that he’ll return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, currently in pre-production and scheduled for a Nov. 8, 2024 theatrical debut. Jackman will join title character Ryan Reynolds in the film. They first teamed as Wolverine and Deadpool in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Btw, someone on BWWorld has attributed any change in his singing in THE MUSIC MAN to this development in Hugh's singing voice.

However, other reports say that Hugh has said that " he's working on it", presumably about work with voice teachers to recover his lost skills? His current singing teacher is still Liz Kaplan.

The full interview where he talks about how the Wolverine portrayal may have hurt his voice, the possibility of a Music Man London transfer ( but not with Hugh) and what kind of theatre he would like to do in the future ( classics and the Greeks). He also said that he basically approaches an acting role (regardless of the type of role - drama/musical/other genre) in the same way!

That last statement sounds interesting, in relation to the remark from Richard Rodgers grandson Adam Guettel that Hugh Jackman has the most natural way of sequeing from speaking to singing and back to speaking. Maybe because he approaches everything as an acting job!
