i was lucky enough to be serenaded 3 times too. Once in SFO when he knelt next to my chair and twice on Broadway. He held my hand near his chest and the second time he alternated kissing my hand and that of my seat mate.
What a wonderful surprise Deb planned for him at the Tony's tonight. They are truly a remarkable couple.

I loved the surprise and delight on his face when they even announced her name. So many people were wondering who would present him with this honor? Little did we (and Hugh! ;D) know that it would be his lovely wife, Deb!

I do have one question: I would like to click on the link to support an ad-free board, but I don't have credit cards. Is there a way I can send a donation via PayPal to someone instead? Thanks!

I just realised, nevaeh, that you and I are in the same province - I live in Stratford!! Cool!

That IS cool! You're not that far from me Barbara! I've gone to Stratford quite a few times! I've had dinner there and seen some plays at the festival with my husband! Did you get to any of Hugh's shows when he was in Toronto? ;D

Welcome Barbara! Nice to see some new pix too. Don't know if you knew that we had to "move" here when we lost our old board and we lost thousands of pix. We're just rebuilding our photo thread. PS: Just want to let you Canada gals know that I'm from a family of Canucks. My first language was actually French. So we have something else in common.

nevaeh, I wondered if you might have been here for the theatre! Sadly, I did not make it to Toronto for Hugh's show, and I was in NYC the week BEFORE he opened there! :'( I have a chronic illness and can't travel often, and I really missed out last year!
Birchie, hello to a fellow Canuck! I did get the idea that the board had been moved/restarted somehow, just from reading some threads, and I am more than happy to help build up the photo thread here!! Sharing photos of Hugh is one of my favourite things to do!
Hi, Alice! *waves*

Hi Alice! Welcome! *also waves* I noticed you're from Nantwich, UK! I'm actually a fellow Brit! I was born in Carshalton, Surrey which is about, oh, three and a half hours from where you are! My family lived in Mitcham before we moved over here to Canada when I was younger. Nice to have you join us!

Thanks, nevaeh. As far as my illness, some days are good, some not so good. I've spent a lot of time in the hospital this year, but am trying to stay positive - hanging out here helps with that!

Hey sweet Sue! I didn't know you're from a Canadian family! From what part? Do you ever come over for visits? Sadly I'm no longer up to date on that branch of my family. My grandmother was the one who kept track of everyone and the rest of us, unfortunately, didn't write most of it down. We're descended from people named Palin & Roy, those are the main ones I remember. They are from the Quebec area we also have links with the local native peoples up there, I think through the Roy side but...I keep hoping to do a genealogy study some day but that hasn't happened yet. I have some notes (somewhere) with a couple of names of towns where my great grandparents were born etc but they are packed away in a box somewhere. I was just talking to one of my boys the other day about how we should look into this. I even remember stories my great grandfather used to tell about his relatives in France so when I watch those Who Do You Think You Are shows I always identify with them wanting to verify stories they heard as kids. I'd love to get into it someday before I'm too old...that isn't too far away.

Welcome, Barbara, I have enjoyed your posts and pictures. I REALLY do understand what happens with chronic medical problems, but this board and the people on it make me smile everyday. Stay strong and "one day at a time". Again, welcome!

Such a treat, to come back to this thread and read so many wonderful warm greetings! Thanks for the prayers, nevaeh! *hugs* Mamaleh, thank you for the good wishes. I really work on staying positive, because it helps, it really does. ocjackie, sounds like you know what I'm talking about. *hugs* If you'd ever like to talk about it, please feel free to PM me. Same goes to anyone else, by the way. I'm into chatting. ;D A nice photo for all of us, I think. Hmmm. . . . how about this? I don't know for sure, but I like to think that drawing on his shirt was actually done by Oscar!

Hello, droverswoman, and welcome. I do not see a way to contribute to the "ad removal fund" without a credit card. ProBoards does offer the option of using "Google Wallet" (which I know nothing about) but I'm guessing you'd need a credit card for that, too. BTW: If anyone else is interested, you don't have to buy a whole month of it. A one dollar payment is the minimum, and it will be added to The Pot for future use.
