Lovely--except he could have been more cooperative and removed his shirt.  Looks like he's playing ball with extended family--unless he's horsing around with general beachgoers. As to weather, I was in Sydney in August--their winter--and I remember being quite comfy in a very light jacket or even just shirtsleeves at times. Could be they're having a warm spell. |

Ellen,
Did you have a chance to go to Bondi in 2006?
We went there as part of a tour but it was the Australian winter, with a few hardy souls braving the surf when we were there. Bondi is quite different from many other beaches -- it has a very, very sweeping shoreline and in some parts, there are cliffs (and I do come from a country with many, many beaches attached to our 7100 islands!). The beach itself has two levels ( one closer to the road is elevated )...There are many shops lining one area ( I bet Hugh got some more comfy clothes in one of them - hence, the photo showing him with two paper bags) and also places to eat.
I guess the surf itself is the thrill for young people but the beach atmosphere seems great for families to enjoy! Something we here in the Philippines share with Bondi -- it is the same ocean, the Pacific!

Unfortunately, Jo, our group never got to Bondi, which I still regret. But I did love that koala park outside Sydney! Next time, Bondi--definitely.
Agreed; he always looks so happy when he's back home--his real home. I have the feeling he would indeed like to move back should circumstances permit.

Oh, wow--talk about mixed feelings. I thought gyms had rules about no photographs allowed. Yet, gaaah! Those treadmill and back shots! Can one be annoyed and delighted at the same time? That gym, where I see he's with his fave back-home trainer Michael Ryan, cannot possibly be the "private" facility Hugh reportedly requested for the Wolvie shoot. Unless he's allowing them as part of the publicity build-up (no pun intended) for the movie? I rather doubt that.
