There is a page on Amazon which says that it has not been released but people can sign up when the deluxe edition will be released.
There are some product details --
Product Details Audio CD (March 19, 2013) Number of Discs: 1 Label: Republic Records ASIN: B00BG08FKK
So, it looks like it will also be released in the USA by an American record company ( and will not be an import).
However, can one(1) disc contain the soundtrack from the UK deluxe edition? Or was that just an error?
March 19 is indicated as a possible release date in the USA.
LOL - they certainly know how to push the buttons of Les Miserables ( and Hugh Jackman) fans ;D...Just wondering --
If this (deluxe) soundtrack or the highlights soundtrack wins a Grammy - will that count as a Grammy win for Hugh Jackman as he would have the most participation in the album?
I wonder - will the singers get royalty, too? Or do their salary for the movie covers any album releases ( as this was not separately recorded). There are a lot of fans out there but there are also a lot of singers in the album, if there is singer participation in the album - LOL! Certainly, the original creatives ( Schoenberg, Boublil, Kretzmer) and producers ( Mackintosh, Working Title) will be laughing all the way to the bank ;D

Let me count the ways ... Les Miserables - how do I love thee *Cinema tickets ( 6 outings to see the movie, in my case) *Highlights soundtrack *Deluxe soundtrack *BluRay/DVD etc -- standard (Amazon) and deluxe version (Target) *Book - From Stage to Screen ( Nightingale and Palmer) *T-shirt ( with "24601") *Vocal selections music sheets ( including Suddenly) *Still trying - to get a poster of Les Miserables showing Hugh's eyes on a red flag! *No action figures? LOL! *No other apparel ( sweatshirt, jacket, cap)?? And that is just for the movie musical! Don't ask me how much I have stashed for the stage musical or copies of the unabridged and abridged editions of the book I have bought since 1988 ;D...Although, two items I have had from before served me in good stead to connect to the movie musical version. Hugh did sign two items for me ( at the Broadhurst stagedoor) -- a Les Mis button and a Les Mis artcard ( showing the show playing at the Imperial) > Jo

LOL- I have been giving some broad hints about it for sometime now ;D Michael is, of course, the original Marius in Les Miserables. Here are some notes from him re SUDDENLY -- "I was thrilled when Claude Michel visited the studio when we were recording ‘Suddenly’ which of course he co-wrote for the film version of Les Miserables – it was the first time we’d been in a recording studio for 25 years – we had a great time together!"Someone has heard a short clip and said it was very emotional . I have it already on pre-order! Michael Ball has been my favorite singer since 1988 ( when I first saw Les Miserables) Jo

I'm looking forward to anything I can get my hands on. The Virus From Hell has prevented me from making a return visit to a movie theater to see the film again. I'd hate to have a coughing fit and spoil the experience for others. Maybe if Les Mis wins some Oscars it will return to the big screen??? Hope sprigs eternal.

The Deluxe/Full Motion Picture Soundtrack is now available for Pre-orders on Amazon.com --
Les Miserables Original Motion Picture Soundtrack [Deluxe Edition] by Soundtrack (Mar 19, 2013) $25.49Audio CD Available for Pre-order. This item will be released on March 19, 2013.
Compared to the UK release, this is a bit more expensive. My pre-order price ( tax-exempt) from Amazon.co.uk is GBP 12.30 ( approx US$ 19.20). It is also more expensive compared to the BluRay/DVD combo package ( priced at $ 23.99 for the US release).

This is not to promote Michael Ball's new album ;D -- but here are samplers of the songs, and if you click on # 6, the sampler will play a short clip of SUDDENLY! www.amazon.co.uk/Both-Sides-Now/dp/B00BGZJEJQ/ref=ntt_mus_ep_dpi_4I love this song. It is beautiful, emotional, but deceptively simple - as lullabies go. But elegant, too, as expressions of love can be! Someone here in Manila has even suggested that it will make a perfect song for a wedding Someone said ( not sure if it was from the Mackintosh group) that Michael could have done a cameo for the movie musical but his West End engagement for a revival of Sweeney Todd did not make the cameo appearance feasible. Instead, he and the producers/creatives agreed that Michael can feature the new song on his forthcoming album. The still-to-be released album ( Feb 25, right after the Oscars) is doing quite well on Amazon.co.uk Jo

I counted Hugh's name 16 times on the track list -- it should really be 17 if we count the Epilogue because he sings a great deal of the music there. And of course he has 4 big solos, a major duet, and another duet ( Valjean's Confession), and the threesome ( The Bargain).
Hope this wins the Grammy for Best Soundtrack!

I don't know why so many people are making a cottage industry out of lambasting Russell's singing voice. I honestly don't find anything wrong with it.
Nice background stuff for the DVD/Blu-ray release.

I hope Jo Jo (or anyone): This may be a dumb question, but what exactly are "recitatives"? I have looked the word up in a dictionary, and unfortunately, my brain is being rather obtuse, so the word is not connecting... I am sure I know what they are, but again, I am having a MAJOR DUH moment... Using the Complete Symphonic Recording as the Which songs are considered the "recitatives" in the Complete Symphonic Recording?

Recitatives are sung dialogs. They are not like solos or duets or ensemble songs ( these would include Bring Him Home, I Dreamed a Dream, Do You Hear the People Sing, etc) which express the thoughts and emotions of the character in a more expository manner... but are used to help advance the story through conversing or maybe having ordinary arguments but expressed in a singing manner and are called recitatives. This is true when the entire musical is sung-through (practically no spoken dialog), which is almost like the format of an opera or operetta. I think the origin is from the world of opera. An example of recitatives would be the conversation between Le Maire Valjean when he meets Javert in his office for the first time, after Fantine was let go by the foreman. Also, the dialog when Fantine was walking the streets and accosted by Bamatabois, and eventually rescued by Valjean, with Javert looking on -- those were all recitatives even if they were singing the dialogs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RecitativeIf you have been a fan of Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon and many of Lloyd Webber's musicals ( Sunset Boulevard, Aspects of Love, The Woman in White, etc) - they are basically sung-through musicals and combine songs with recitatives. Ironically, one of my favorite tracks in some ALW musicals are recitatives - LOL!

Jo: THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! > I intuitively understood 'sung dialogues' from Dictionary.com and WikiPedia, though I just could not exactly visualize what one was... Using the 'Complete Symphonic Recording' as an example, I now know EXACTLY what a "Recitative" is... One of these days, I REALLY should take a Music Appreciation or a Music Theory class, because I know a lot about music, but just not aware/know the proper vocabulary...

FYI... I just purchased and received the book: Les Miserables: From Stage to Screen and it's absolutely gorgeous. Pages with beautiful pictures and cutouts as well as reproductions the opening night ticket in London, programs and many other things. I haven't read it yet, but it's worth a purchase for the beautiful pictures. I thought this was going to be released in April but they must have moved it up!

I am hoping to get my book any day/week now.
What I have received is the Musical Compilations booklet ( music sheets) revised for the movie. Hugh and Isabelle are on the cover - gorgeous picture hugging the entire page. There are also many photos from the movie inside and every character has a full-page solo ( including Gavroche and Enjolras). Only 16 songs are featured and the new ones are Suddenly and the Javert recitative/song I Have a Crime to Declare. Quite a keeper even if you are not a singer! Also a great gift to someone musically-inclined and who loves Les Miserables!
