How about a Broadway revival of MY FAIR LADY? I know he would rather do original work, but OKLAHOMA! was a revival. Maybe because at that time when he auditioned for it, he was not yet "THE Hugh Jackman", as someone in the Oklahoma! RNT cast once called him ( maybe it was Josefina Gabrielle) as they remembered him for that yearlong stage stint. After that and XMen ... and The Boy from Oz, he had the luxury of a lot more stage options He did go to Vienna to view the new Stephen Schwartz musical SCHIKANEDER, but that could go a longer route before it can transfer to Broadway, if he ever agrees to the role. An old one ( he was filming Van Helsing then, but before TBFO) but one of my favorites. Interview with Parkison ( a favorite with his Dad) -- this was longer but it looks like they cut off the first part ( which was also very enjoyable) --

That was such a good interview. Too bad the part about the long-haired Hugh likely looking like a "damn hippie" to his Dad was cut out, among other choice bits. Fun stuff.

I liked the Jeff Probst interview for all the possible reasons but I noticed how close they sat to each other. It was almost as if two good friends chatted, ignoring the audience. It was a nice change of pace and he even "changed" some of his stories a little

Not an interview, but a promotional appearance for REAL STEEL in 2011 on French TV -- Wow, he is not so daring when it comes to Fallon and Degeneres

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/hugh-jackman-the-greatest-showman-being-bullied-on-set-and-his-take-on-the-weinstein-scandal-3ckp2s3vsLengthy interview -- many personal insights shared by Hugh. It is less about THE GREATEST SHOWMAN than a friendly chat with a fellow human being: I had hoped that the interviewer would have asked him about his career after Wolverine -- how he thinks he is going to navigate a new fork down the road. I wonder if this journalist had even seen LOGAN and how that film has been a career-changing move for Hugh and a genre-changing turn for a movie that set up the landscape for the new and current box office kings? It's a bit on the gossipy side...and did not even touch on the long road for THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. Jo

Welcome, Ibtesam.
Thanks for posting that gem of an interview. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it. I truly think it was one of Lipton’s best ITAS segments, and of course lovely to see the “boy” aspect of THE BOY FROM OZ.

Merci, hughmanity!
Hugh is always such an excellent person to interview - especially if the interviewer prepares well and do not ask the same tired old questions. In this case, he is able to delve deeper into Hugh's thoughts and motivations --and Hugh is always very accommodating even with deeply personal questions. Hugh is also a very deep person and even when the question could be a surprising one, he gives honest and thoughtful replies.
Re the question on the Jean Valjean role -- I hope the French ( who did not appreciate the film adaptation too much, via its box office response to the movie) later on took time to watch the video ( BluRay/DVD) because that is one of the most deeply moving portrayals from Hugh! And it is quite a signal appreciation of an actor's work when there are several key personages/roles with which he is now identified with as an actor - of course, there will always be Wolverine ( and later the slightly different Logan), then there was Jean Valjean, and now Barnum has been added among his memorable character portrayals! That speak so well of his talent and versatility! And we are talking only of the film art here.
Also, when you watch his interviews, Hugh gives us some deep insights from which we can also learn about ourselves. I never realized how true it is that often our gut instinct guides us even before we rationalize our actions/viewpoints mentally-speaking. His interviews also often validates his feelings about how important connecting to others or to an idea could be and that it makes us a more complete human being.

First -- Thanks, hughmanity, for the link. Unfortunately, after I opened it, it did not stay open for me...and I had to go back to the original link. But, it wouldn't share the full interview anymore, unless I subscribe to the online publication. Any chance you can reprint the full interview ( never mind the photos, just the text). If you are unable to -- Any chance if somebody else sees the link, to please reprint the full interview ( without the photos), if you can?It looks very interesting, just for the first paragraph alone -- Thanks Jo
