Personally, the first model car I bought with my own pocket money was a 1995 Ferrari 550 Maranello finished in Nero Daytona metallic black paint with a cream interior and silver wheels. That car's timeless long-bonnet proportions reached out to 12-year-old me more than brighter-coloured rivals in the toy shop, and I can still remember telling dad I just had to have it.

Collecting the keys for a test drive of its modern successor - in identical trim, no less - called to mind that dusty but not forgotten Bburago, bringing poetic symmetry to my first drive of a Ferrari. While cars like this don't make fiscal sense, there is a strong emotional argument that they represent much more than a flashy set of wheels. This isn't just about going fast or looking cool, it's a soul thing...

What was it like working with Hugh?

It’s hard to answer these questions because everyone’s always going to say that everyone they worked with was brilliant – but in actual fact, Hugh is probably the most fun friendship I’ve made in years. From the first instance we met, we were both just trying to make each other laugh. I actually got quite addicted to making Hugh laugh in the middle of takes – to the detriment of the film! But yeah, he’s just so warm spirited and kind, but with a great sense of mischief. Between him and Dexter, the whole film was just such a pleasure to work on – such a buoyant atmosphere – and that’s probably one of the secrets of the film actually. It was hoot, and that dynamic has hopefully translated to the screen.

And this was just working on the film with Hugh. Taron seemed to have enjoyed their time together very much while working on the press tour worldwide.

The on-screen friendship is a driving force of the movie and it is obvious that a similar bond formed between the actors, as they share jokes and trade mock insults like a pair of old pals – which, according to Egerton, is exactly what they have become.

“I’d love to work with Hugh again," says Egerton. “He’s the person on set who elevates everybody up to another level and makes them feel like an equal.

“He’s totally self-effacing and doesn’t like to self-aggrandise. Every Friday, he gives out a lottery ticket to every single person on set so he gets the chance to say hello and get to know everybody by name. I still have to find the intro by Jay. I do remember that the front row had Rupert and Wendi Murdoch, Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman. Also, after the ceremony I remember reading that other front row seater Ava asked his Dad " how it was". Hugh thought she was asking how the ceremony went. Ava ( who was about 4 at that time) said " Dad, I mean the cement...how was the cement?"

At an Asian version of ComicCon held here in Manila, one of the star celebrities was Nicholas Hoult ( XMen's younger version of BEAST). He was asked about Hugh --

Hoult also shared his sadness over Hugh Jackman’s last portrayal as Wolverine in the upcoming, still untitled third installment showing this 2017, saying working with the veteran actor was a surreal moment for him and his childhood.

“I grew up with him playing Wolverine, the first film I saw him in was when I was 11 years old,” he said.

“I’m just thankful for all the wonderful work he’s done through the franchise. He’s just been phenomenal in that role, and I feel very fortunate to have been around him and be a fan and see him bring Wolverine to life so greatly,” Hoult added.
