Stephen Merchant has hailed Hugh Jackman's performance in 'Logan' as "formidable".

The 41-year-old British actor plays Caliban opposite the 48-year-old star as Wolverine in the third standalone movie about the metal-clawed superhero and X-Men member and was blown away with how much "fun" he was to work with.

Asked what it was like acting alongside the Hollywood legend, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Oh yeah, that was enormous fun, he's one of the nicest men you could work with, all the rumours you have heard about how lovely and accommodating and lovely he is, is all true, he's just formidable talent."

Will Hugh change his mind about revivals? The only revivals he has done are the 2 R&H iconic musicals ( Oklahoma! and Carousel). Even in movies, his choices are first film interpretations.

Part of Tate Modern where private functions can be held are named after Len Blavatnik, on whose landmark birthday Baz Luhrmann must have roped in Hugh to perform together with other celebrities.

EDIT : Based on a video clip of other performers for the birthday celebration, it looked like it was held in a huge castle in the British countryside? It was hell [laughs]! No, Hugh is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met professionally or personally. He’s an incredibly nice man who has charisma for days, and what was amazing was that he could walk into any theater on Broadway and know the name of everyone from the people at the door to the bar staff.
