I know this photo isn't from this Wolverine movie, but I absolutely love this shot of Logan and Kayla.

Nevaeh, I love this shot, too. I've always liked to think of it as a deleted scene, something we just didn't see in the final cut of the movie. ;D

I've been trawling some of the film sites and message boards - it looks like there is an emerging positivity towards the movie now? Maybe because of the details disclosed by Mangold - I know that fans resented Mangold initially for two reasons: That he is just a replacement for Aronofsky whom many admired tremendously...and that the original McQuarrie ( sp?) script has been rewritten by Bomback and Mangold himself ( he writes!). But it seems the fans are starting to come around because the details disclosed ( the timeline, the "isolation" aspect, etc) appeal to the fanboys.
I wonder how open JM and Hugh would be re answering really NOSY questions from fans during the CHAT on October 29?
Can't quite believe they will be winding up filming in a few weeks' time!

Mangold has written and co-written many screenplays. Among them, COP LAND, WALK THE LINE and KATE AND LEOPOLD. I actually have a copy of the "original" Kate and Leopold screenplay written by Steven Rogers and James Mangold which is nothing like the final product! My best friend gave it to me as a present years ago. It's very emotional and is more of a dramedy. Parts of it are quite heart wrenching.

Here you go. If you're interested, this is the link to the original "Kate and Leopold" story. Be prepared for a different angle on things! Enjoy. I had tears in my eyes for this version. www.weeklyscript.com/Kate%20And%20Leopold.txt

LOL! Alicia, I didn't even think of that! That's hilarious! Kind of a cool connection there though since Logan and Captain America were friends and fought together did they not? ;D Let me know what you think of the original version of K & L?

In the meantime, I was researching on XMEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and it looks like there is a lot of possibilities there.
But the linkup between the young XMen ( the first class!) and the older Xmen and how they will interact seems quite established. But which storyline will they follow?
To tell the truth - I was looking for the Wolverine links ;D

I am trying to see if I can watch the CHAT with Hugh and James Mangold. I think I woke up 24 hours too early - LOL!
I thought it was for today, but it seems it will be for tomorrow (in our time zone, that would be 4:00 am... in the wee hours of the morning).

Jo, Thanks for the tweets from Ryan. He's very enthusiastic. Hope those of us in the Northeast quadrant of the US don't lose power and miss the chat. Those in NY & NJ will be getting it worse that me but it still looks nasty out here already. Stay safe everyone! Sue

Just finished watching the live chat. They didn't give too much away, but they said just enough to make me really happy about what's going on. Plus we know when the movie is set now. Can't wait for July!

Try this for the replay -- www.youtube.com/watch?v=hajDiaJre14If you don't catch it at the beginning, just keep watching until you complete the entire loop - it is less than half an hour. It looks like they are trying to be more grounded, more primal, with more turned-up dramatic integrity! As Hugh said -- the title tells you all! Jo

Thanks Barbara for the poster and the photo! Verrrry nice!
I watched the chat live (tuned in about 7 minutes past 4:00pm) and every few minutes it would stop and I'd have the buffering bar go across. That drove me nuts! I thought the chat would be longer than it was, but it was still great seeing Hughie and listening to them answer some of the questions. I'm really looking forward to this movie and how they're taking us deeper into the character. I love what James Mangold said about so many movies now depending on special effects; where they hit a certain point and just can't go any further in surprising an audience. He said he wanted this film to be more down to earth and focus more on Logan and how his experiences have affected him over the years. It seems to be more darker and delving into Wolverine's inner turmoil and aloneness and I love that they're going this route. I can't wait to see all the surprises they've alluded to in this interview and the "seeeekrits" that Ryan Penagos keeps talking about! Oh well, just have to wait until July! *sigh*

Film noir indeed! It also reminds me of Japanese woodblock prints. Jo

Whoops, sorry -- image too large!
Have to find a more manageable size!
EDIT: Found one - but I do miss the larger image ;D
This is worth framing - very artistically done, compared to all other posters in the past. It looks like Hugh may have used his Met Museum connections for this one. Although he did say that they also visited the Japanese Museum for the general look for the movie ( re the armors, etc)
I hope this becomes available on Amazon!
