That looks like from CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY -- www.charlieonbroadway.com/Liev took his two sons along... Hugh seems to have come alone? Check out the clip - it reminds me of another British-based fantasy musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, because of the sets and the air of joy! Posted by Ellen earlier --

Ha, Christine Borle (Wonka) looks glum, for some reason. While his show may be lacking a Tony nomination, it's reportedly doing quite well at the box office. And hey, he's personally nominated for another show this season, FALSETTOES. And he got to stand next to Hugh for a photo. So cheer up, Chris.

Was Hugh reminded of the spectacle of THE GREASTES SHOWMAN?

Looking it up, that seems like an unusual Edward Albee play, which won a TONY and a Pullitzer way back then.
Presumably Hugh is staying in London...and be able to attend CineEurope in Barcelona for the Fox presentation? He is a real theatre-lover and will likely take in as many shows as he could in London?

I was fascinated by Bob Martin's Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for DROWSY. He was very effective, but I wondered: Was that the first time someone was nominated in that category for a non-singing role? That bears researching. Was Boyd Gaines nominated for CONTACT? I'll have to dig around.

I also saw Bob Martin as Man in Chair in DROWSY CHAPERONE. I think he was a crowd favorite because many longtime theatre fans identified with his character as someone who was a devoted fan of that performing art In SWEET CHARITY, the talented Denis O'Hare was nominated for a non-singing role in a musical but not for a Tony, only for other non-Tony awards. It was an acknowledgement of how good he was in it. He had won the TONY before as a featured actor in the play TAKE ME OUT. Jo

In fact, this revival added a third song for his character, who had only two in the original production. Ellen

Lol -- I forgot that The only song that stuck in my mind from SWEET CHARITY is HEY, BIG SPENDER How could I forgot what he did -- actually what I remembered was that he made me really laugh so hard with his performance. And how could I forget our stagedoor encounter where he made me laugh further. When I congratulated him for Sweet Charity and for Take Me Out --he impishly told me that it was not in his contract to go nude Jo

He’s probably been invited to Ben’s coveted last performance. Those tickets were HAMILTON-level difficult for the public to obtain.
