This is one of those recurring rumors - I wish it were true, but I doubt it. Nice dream though - - - This is a quash from a similar story last June. Silly story about Beatles' sons forming band goes viral2nd generation Beatles' band In case it's not immediately obvious to you - (L to R): James McCartney, Sean Lennon (where's Julian!?!), Dhani Harrison, Zak Starkey Beatles tangent: If you've seen the official photo accompanying news stories of Elizabeth II becoming the longest reigning British monarch of all time - it was taken by Mary McCartney, who has followed in her mother, Linda's footsteps.

You can tell by looking at each young man whose dad was who. Interesting bit about the late Linda's daughter also being a photographer. Can't believe Mrs. M has been gone 17 years already.

Zak Starkey (Ringo's oldest son) plays drums for The Who (for about 15 years now) Dhani Harrison has his own band called thenewno2 (the new number two) James McCartney has a solo career playing acoustic guitar. Sean Lennon has had numerous bands and still performs, most recent band is Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger.

I guess I hadn't kept up with the next generation. Those apples didn't fall very far from the family tree, did they?

That one photo of the woman with the champagne glass that talks about the artist Shannon, is really John's half-sister, Julia Dykins Baird. Nancy

Today is the 35th anniversary of the murder of John Lennon. Hard for me to believe it was that long ago. I was 25 years old then and cried off & on for at least a week! Nancy

It was a Monday night. I was at a holiday party in NYC. Most of the people there worked at local radio station WPLJ. Someone went up to the mic and announced that John Lennon had been shot and killed outside The Dakota. We all started razzing him - "That's not funny." "Stop it." "Don't be ridiculous." Someone else turned on a transistor radio (remember them?). It was true. It was on every station. The party - how can I describe it? - the party that had been jubilant a few minutes earlier just disintegrated. People picked up their coats and walked out the door. I went home and sat up all night watching news bulletins. Every time I saw one I couldn't believe it was still true. People at work were zombies for days. I went to Central Park the following Sunday for "a moment of silence" still not wanting to believe it. I cried tonight as they recalled it on CNN. Such a terrible, senseless loss - both the Man, and all the music we never got to hear.

I was asleep and didn't hear about it until about 6 am when my best friend (also a Beatles fan) called me. At first I thought maybe it was a hoax, like the "Paul is dead" thing. Alas, it was true.
