No one could hit that note early in the morning without a decent warm up. That's what makes it so funny.
Kathy (used to be a high soprano...now lucky to get the high alto notes! Maybe I could try tenor...yeh...tenor might work.)

Rockin' and Rollin' in So Cal! Last night we had a 5.1 Quake, and a half hour ago, a 4.1 after shock. Hope these relieve the pressure so we don't get "The Big One"! Maybe I caused the 4.1 by laughing so much at the "I'm Wolverine!" video. The ground surely shook.

Some people actually think Hugh is making a Wolverine musical giggle Maybe he should hurry with his musicals project -- Greatest Showman? A musical to replace Houdini on Broadway? Of course he can always show off in the coming TONYs Jo

Even People.com caught up with the radio/internet sensation! The Fox marketing people must be over the moon, even if this was completely unplanned smiley-happy036 www.people.com/people/article/0,,20801587,00.html That image reflects the real color of his eyes! Very mesmerizing up close. Jo

It looks like the EMPIRE awards were given to some iconic figures, including these ones --
Btw, Darren Aronofsky presented the ICON award to Hugh!

Jo, you would probably like these nice words of Aronofsky, as they were transcribed in the live blog of the event: It was such a nice surprise to first find out he was at this event at all. At first I thought he was there because Prisoners was a nominee, for Best Thriller. And then we finally figured out why. They have pretty good secret-keepers at Empire.

Thanks, Suefb The Fountain has been a great favorite of mine-- we followed its development before and during filming...and even after when it became a cult hit. Hugh and Darren shared many earth-shattering moments during filming ( including Hugh staying underwater, while bound, for a long time to replicate how it would look like floating in space) ...and Hugh said at that time that the filming of The Fountain was the most emotional time for him. How did Darren turn up at TBFO? Hugh had invited some 20 film directors or so to watch the show...and it seems Darren loves musical theatre and turned up. During a backstage visit, Hugh was able to persuade Darren to show him the script. The following day, right after he completed reading the script, Hugh called him and said he was in, if Darren would have him. It was also Hugh who suggested then Darren's partner, Rachel Weisz, for the role of Izzy ( Also, check out the interview of Hugh handled by Rachel while Hugh was being made up for a scene in The Fountain, as part of the DVD/Blu Ray release, for such insights on the film and their craft of acting ). Re the standing ovation -- it was not so much about the finale/curtain call standing ovation which amazed audiences. It was the rare middle-of-the-show standing ovation which followed the eleven o'clock number ONCE BEFORE I GO, which was noteworthy -- because no one gets it like that ( mid-show!) and as often as almost daily in its year-long run! Personally, I thought that it was not so much that Once Before I Go was quite ouststanding ( it was !)but that the audience was joyously acknowledging the entire performance by Hugh at that point! ... Loved that show smiley-love029 Jo

Lovely Kate Beckinsale! Van Helsing is a guilty pleasure, minus the intense CGIs.
Will Hugh and Darren ever work together again?

Thanks, Sue!
Sometimes one forgets that he is quite English in many ways --
"Carry on"
"Fish and chips"
"Elevenses"
That interviewer probably forgot that Hugh was in London for a year in Oklahoma!

Hugh could be physically preparing himself ( with the head and facial hair) now for the role of Blackbeard ( filming starts in May in England) There are a few historical engravings of the pirate Blackbeard on the Wikipedia site -- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackbeardHe was a real English historical figure who lived in the late 17th and early 18th century, but romanticized in works of fiction. He was known for his flamboyant look, including his famous beard and facial hair. I posted two sketches of Blackbeard on the " PAN*** " thread. If you had a chance to glimpse at our MEMBERS-ONLY section and read stuff suggested from there -- the Blackbeard character in this film by Joe Wright and script by Jason Fuchs seemed also a vain man and was considered "mesmerizing" and "Svengali-like". So, maybe they will opt for a very colorful look ( including head and facial hair) for the character of Blackbeard and portrayed by Hugh Jo
