Love how diverse this cast is.

That is the feeling one gets in comparison to the casting of APOCALYPSE.

The casting of mainly/seemingly character actors for WOLVERINE-3, instead of similar acting personalities, augurs well for the plot and the characters of this movie. It is not an assemblage of "hot" actors -- but promises to be a combination of interesting character portrayals.

And the above comment is from someone who has been a longtime XMEN fan.

The Wolverine 2 continues to build its mysterious — but very awesome — cast for Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the iconic X-Men character.

It is speaking well of the potential of the script...the broad competence of James Mangold ( who has a more well-received directorial portfolio than Bryan Singer)...and the inputs of a very versatile actor whose film journey in a franchise ( which started the trend towards a more mature action hero films) will be capped in this project!

Production designer François Audouy ( who also did the design for THE WOLVERINE) posted the clapboard photo for the first scene on the first day of filming, even saying that the project is code-named JUAREZ.

Now all traces of the tweet and the Instagram photo have been deleted. Nothing appears on his website!

Filmsites also bewail that while new casting have indicated some very, very basic information, no names of characters to be portrayed have been given, as if they don't want to give any hint of the theme and plot!

Is this the new tack being taken by Fox's Marketing Department now? Most of the publicity leaks are derived from the current marketing push for APOCALYPSE, such as the violence quotient seen in the Wolverine cameo and super villain Mr. Sinister being hinted at in the post-credits scene when it showed someone collecting vials of Wolverine's blood with his new DNA.

Other hint we have seen is how Hugh looks now with his facial hair and his shorter head hair (than is usual for Wolverine) -- shown on his makeup tweet/instagram, his reading a book in his trailer...plus some paps shots in NYC.

Even the casting of Patrick Stewart was confirmed only later, although Eriq La Salle tweeted having worked with him on his first day of filming -- I think I will recheck if that tweet is still alive. EDIT: They haven't discovered that tweet - it is still in cyberspace

Sounds like a cloak-and-dagger movie - LOL!

Yes, that seems like it was taken when we saw him with Deb in NYC the other weekend. It could also be a recent set, taken in New Orleans -- I hear he is staying in New Orleans this weekend.

They must be on a very strict filming schedule! The movie is due for release slightly less than 10 months away from now ( March 3, 2017)...unless Fox moves it to the height of the summer season! There is the rest of the filming ( they are barely into the third week) to do -- maybe till July/early August? And there would be the arduous post-production to do -- which for action movies, especially with lots of CGIs, could take some time to do!

If it is a big tentpole like DAYS OF FUTURE PAST or APOCALYPSE (with super action scenes and lots of CGI'd action scenes). In the case of THE WOLVERINE, the likely long post were for the train action scenes and the scenes with the robot-encased Silver Samurai.

I think they filmed The Wolverine a month after Les Miserables ( which ended filming in mid-June...and Tom Hooper worked a miracle to get the movie released sometime in December), so that would be around late July or early August 2012 and it was released in mid-July 2013 for its London premiere and a general release date of 25/26 July, 2013.

Maybe Hugh will be spending even weekends filming

If they decide to shift release dates to give WOLVERINE 3 more time to complete filming and post, here is how the release schedule currently stands for 2017 --

Fox has nothing for April, a comedy slated for May, and two animated movies for June and July. It is not uncommon for shifts in release dates to happen.

Two issues about shifting release dates for major movies --

*It may not be that easy to raise the number of screens, if necessary. It may also be difficult to get IMAX screen commitments if the change does not happen early on, especially during the summer season when the IMAX screens are likely going to be committed to many other major movie releases.

*Overseas dates may not be as easily fixed. Unless the change is made early, it might be difficult to get simultaneous or close-to-simultaneous day/date release schedules.



Remember how the release date for GREATEST SHOWMAN was moved exactly a year later, from December 25, 2016 to December 25, 2017? What is rare is to move an awards season movie to the following year, usually in the spring or summer, as that lessens the chances for artistic recognition.

If the Wolverine scene in #XMenApocalypse doesn't have you excited for an R-rated Logan film you're insane. @realhughjackman you're the man.

That's what I thought was the reason for that post-credit scene. It was probably a decision by FOX studio itself ( not necessarily an initiative from Bryan Singer) to have a concrete indication on the tone of the forthcoming Wolverine 3! If this was shot in January, then it is proof that adapting an "R" rating was because of the cinematic vision for the film and has no direct relation to the success of the R-rated DEAPOOL which was released in February.

Fans confirmed Hugh Jackman is near the Coast filming scenes for the next Wolverine movie.

He was spotted just across the state line at the NASA Assembly Plant at Michoud in New Orleans East, not far from Slidell, on Monday, shooting a fight scene outdoors on the property.

Workers in nearby offices took their lunch break to watch Jackman through the fence surrounding the set.

Leslie Mathes, a former Gautier resident who works there, told the Sun Herald she watched Jackman fighting men in black who looked like federal agents in front of a green screen with dust being blown across the set.

"He's very handsome," Mathes said. "And tall."

She said he was dressed in a white shirt and had a scruffy beard. He stepped out of a car over-and-over and fought the men.

Mathes said she heard that the fans blowing dust across the set meant "they're pretending it's Mexico."

Her daughter, Isabel, said they were able to walk onto the set at first and were really close until a man ushered them off.

"This guy said politely that we had to leave," Isabel Mathes said. "We said, 'We just want to see Hugh Jackman,' and he said, 'I get it, but you still have to leave.'"

The untitled production of the third Wolverine movie is being referred to as "Juarez" according to the New Orleans film site and will be in production until Aug. 19.

The NASA plant is a revolving door of film crews. Just last year, Tom Cruise was there shooting the "Jack Reacher" sequel.

Mike Scott at NOLA.com reported rumors that crews were scouting locations for the film around New Orleans in March and that filming for Wolverine 3 would begin in May.

Fan websites are reporting this will be Jackman's last time to play the role and the story line will include an older, retired, perhaps happily married Wolverine forced back into service.

The Wolverine movies are a spinoff of Marvel Comics' X-Men.

It doesn't look like it is set into the future ( 50 years hence, which is when the story of Old Man Logan is supposed to happen) and from the look of the vehicle used looks more contemporary?


August 19 is the supposed end-of-filming date. That leaves only about 6 1/2 months for post-production? Hmm...I wonder if they will seriously reconsider the release date of March 3, 2017?

When will he shoot GREATEST SHOWMAN? Maybe towards the fall?

This Nerdist News is jam-packed with spoilers and ‘sclusies, so if you wanna stay in the dark until March 2017, turn back now! As we speak, Wolverine 3 is shooting in New Orleans and we know three things for sure. First, it’s R-rated. Second, it’s set in the future! And last, we’re going to see Wolverine facing off against a “relentless, calculating… intense head of security for a global enterprise” original villain played by Boyd Holbrook. While it’s a little bit of a bummer that we won’t be seeing an iconic comic book baddie, a little ‘sclusie bird told us we might get a few more familiar faces than we thought! That’s right, we’ve got a Nerdist News exclusive for you!

A source close to the production told us that Reavers will be battling old man Logan in Wolverine 3. For newbies to the X-Men, Reavers are a group of cyborgs who’ve operated both as a gang of thieves and an elite military task force. Oh, and they’ve got a history of hatin’ on mutants under the leadership of major X-baddie Donald Pierce. In addition to being half-robot, Pierce allegedly built Reavers to wipe out the mutants and some humans. So he’s a little bit like the X-Men‘s very own Hitler. Fun! As of now, we have two mysterious villains confirmed. First was Boyd Holbrook’s character, and now we know that former Spice Girls manager (in the movie anyway) Richard E. Grant is tied to the movie to play a mad scientist… perhaps Donald Pierce himself?

Our thoughts are these: one option is that that “global enterprise” is the Hellfire Club, a bunch of elite, rich mutants who want to influence world events, which, surprise surprise, reaver leader Donald Pierce was a member of. Pierce could become the group’s new leader, and the Reavers could possibly become their security crew! Another possibility, and this one is chok-full-of-spoilers because it has to do with the post-credits scene in X-Men: Apocalypse, is that this global enterprise is the Essex Corp. run by Nathaniel Essex aka Mister Sinister. We caught a peek of the Weapon X facility in the post-credits scene, so we could definitely see this typing into Wolverine 3‘s plot! Especially because there’s a rumor going around that X-23, a female Wolverine clone might make an appearance.

And finally, the last (best?) option! What if the creative team behind Wolverine 3 is taking a more creative, looser approach to the Reavers, and might use this as a chance to have Wolverine face off against all of his biggest foes for one final fight? If Essex Corp. is using the blood of various mutants to build the Reavers, could they reincarnate cyborg versions of the greatest enemies Wolverine has faced across the X-Men cinematic universe? Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but we’ve heard small rumblings that Liev Schreiber might be returning as Sabretooth…

But what about you guys? Do you think you’d want classic Wolverine villains to make a return for the three-quel? Which Reaver is the best Reaver? Do you think Wolverine 3 will feature the Siege Perilous, that cosmic device that granted the X-Men the ability to jump parallel timelines and choose to live their lives again without the burden of being born a mutant essentially an X-universe Tabula Rasa? Hey, I have been thinking similar thoughts to the last option -- that this farewell Wolverine solo is going to be a sort of retrospective of Wolverine's past adventures and adversaries! But I wasn't sure what device they might use ( e.g., time travel) for this to happen. The suggested solution by this site sounds very credible!

Lady Deathstrike/Deathstryke ( remember Wolverine's opponent in X-2, who almost got him with her own adamantium claws) is supposed to be a creation of the REAVERS or was one of the REAVERS ( the new rumored major villains). So there is strong buzz that the character will return in WOLVERINE 3.


Some people are tweeting her about it...but her responses have been enigmatic.

Production crews, directors and actors descended on Hammond Friday for the shooting of a movie currently called "Juarez."


Signs labeled "Juarez" on University Avenue and General Pershing streets pointed people to Greenlawn Cemetery, where Hammond police had blocked off Western Avenue and entrances to the cemetery.


Earlier this week movie crews shot scenes in downtown Amite and east of Amite near Bell Road, according to Carla Tate of Tangi Tourism.


Though the state's movie tax credits were cut in 2015, Tate said the parish has been fortunate to get some attention, despite an overall decrease in movie shoots.


Hotel occupancy has been positively impacted this week, as Tate said many production crew members have stayed in the area's hotels. She did not have exact figures on hotel occupancy for the week.


Mayor Pete Panepinto said he was excited to have the film crews in town. He went to the cemetery Friday and watched a few scenes being filmed, some that involved use of artificial rain.


"I thanked them for being in the community, and I encouraged them to see the city and go to the restaurants," he said.


Though it has not been confirmed, the movie is thought by many to be "Wolverine 3," the final outing of Marvel's X-Men character Logan, starring Hugh Jackman, and expected to hit the theaters March 3.


Production and supply trucks, along with RVs, were parked along Western Avenue and in the parking lot behind Southeastern Louisiana University's Alumni Field on Friday.


A spokesman at Immanuel Baptist Church on Pecan Street said the moviemakers had approached church officials about possibly using their property for parking, but an arrangement was not feasible.


Hammond Northshore Regional Airport Director David Lobue said Friday was a busy day for airport traffic, but he didn't think any of it was movie-related.

There is a famed restaurant in New Orleans called APOLLINE.

I have wondered why he has been wearing a cap everytime we see him recently ( even inside the trailer while reading a book). Maybe he is going to adopt the close-cropped hair of Logan as in OldManLogan, without the scenario of seeing Wolverine in the far future?
