Movie crew shuts down part of LA-16

Last Wednesday and Thursday, Fox Louisiana Productions, LLC, set up on LA-16 on the 100 block of W Oak Street to film scenes of a movie. The 20th Century Fox feature film, being labeled “Juarez,” stars Hugh Jackman, who was spotted at several locations in Amite and Hammond. It was speculated the crew could be filming “Wolverine 3.”

As part of the production, crews came into Amite two weeks ago to begin preparing the set. An abandoned building was transformed by an Urgent Care sign and fresh paint.

The Amite Police Department, Mayor’s office, Louisiana DOTD, and Tangipahoa Parish Convention and Visitor’s Bureau worked together to effect traffic control and monitor safety. Traffic had to detour around part of LA-16 during filming.

The Wolverine had a production budget of $ 120 million but was filmed in Japan and Australia.

I wonder if the budget of $127 million is already net of tax cuts?

Filming is currently in Lousiana...then moves into New Mexico.

These are quite revelatory pictures, corroborated in that picture taken by someone who saw the filming a week or so ago, which showed a modern setting.

Is the first part of the movie set in contemporary times?

The OldManLogan saga is set into the far future...so, will that happen at some point ( maybe when they move filming in New Mexico).

Hmmm... could the JJ set of photos have been taken also when the early photograph was taken last week? Unless, he is using the prop car for many continuous scenes in the story?

But is it possible that the JJ photos were taken last week and uploaded on March 31 when JJ got hold of them ... LOL - that would explain why he already had cropped hair when he was seen at APOLLINE ? And is the next phase of the storyline going to see a new Logan with cropped hair?

Fiat Chrysler loves a movie tie-in. Remember the Stormtrooper-spec Dodge Charger we messed around with? Then there was the Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice special edition, built for Batman v. Superman. And now, it looks like the company donated a misshapen Chrysler limo for the latest film in the Wolverine series.

To answer your questions, imo that is his real hair and then later they shaved it. The car looks like the same one as that shot from afar one. And, that doesn't look like an aerosol can to me. See her fingers on the spray lever? Aerosol ones don't look like that. Looks like just a spray bottle (water?) to me. Whatever it is, the liquid is clear.

The "stolen" set photos uploaded by JustJared are confusing and disappointing fans -- message boards are asking how this ties up at all with OLD MAN LOGAN?

This media leak is not intended...but maybe at some point, Hugh or James Mangold or Fox marketing should share a bit more information about the plotline. If those set photos are disappointing people, maybe they should counter them with photos that intend to communicate the right message and perk up interest in the movie!

It is hard to control "stolen" shots if filming is done outside because it is not just paps but anyone who has a smartphone can report graphically what they may have seen.

To be honest, I cannot understand the strict secrecy that seems to envelop the project. A few tweets from Hugh that will tease about the theme and/or characters could be enough to make fans anticipate the movie even more. Besides, social media promotion doesn't cost anything much

who seemed to be knowledgeable about the project had this financial speculation --

the marketing is a separate budget. It wouldn't be listed on the application for Louisiana. Also, that is a total estimation of expenditures... not what is actually being spent. For instance... the film is also shooting for 4 weeks in New Mexico... but the budget of the movie is actually around $95 million... with $30 million of it allocated to visual effects. So the actual production shooting budget of the film... minus Jackman's take... is closer to $50 million

It looks like the uploaded set photos, which now seems to have been shot by a paparazzo, was not complete. There was one, but I ignored printing it, which actually tells part of the story...another one which was very telling.

Some fans think that it could be an adaptation of THE DEATH OF WOLVERINE.






and remember when it was reported that Fox was supposed to have registered the domain TheDeathofLogan.com ?


But others do not think that FOX will allow the character to die, even if Jackman no longer wants to play the part.


While others think the film adaptation may actually take elements from both OLD MAN LOGAN and THE DEATH OF WOLVERINE!

Parts of Wolverine Sequel set to be filmed in Concordia Parish

CONCORDIA PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - In just a few weeks the Ferriday shopping center and parking lot will look completely different as film crews make their way to Ferriday to film parts of the Wolverine Sequel.

"I think it's going to be nice you know like I said it'll bring in some revenue for the town," says Benjamin Carter who lives in Ferriday.

"Very excited hopefully get to see them when they come," says Cecil Thompson who lives in Ferriday.

Ferriday Mayor Gene Allen says the movie crew asked the town if they could use some of their facilities for storage, dining, and rehearsals.

"We'll get a chance to see Ferriday part of movies like we were back in the day you know we have a lot of famous people from Ferriday Jim Swagger, Mickey Gilley, Jerry Lewis all of those are movie stars from Ferriday," says Allen.

The film crew will set up in the shopping center on June 12th and wrap up on the 16th.

Some people in the town say they aren't to familiar with the film, but the actors ring a bell.

"My kids watch it but I think I watched one of them when it first came out but I heard of Hugh Jackman but it took me awhile to remember," says Carter.

Allen says when the crews toured Ferriday a portion of Highway 425 caught their eye.

"They have a field that's on the highway 425 like a corn field on one side and a rice field on the other and it's going to be like a modern day take on technology of moving from one phase of farming from the old days to new days," says Allen.

Several road closed and detour signs will be put up when it's get closer to filming time and the mayor is asking everyone to be mindful of crews.

There seems to be a lot outdoor locales for this movie. Presumably, when they move to New Mexico, they would also be looking at outside filming opportunities?

After a somewhat lackluster release with X-Men: Apocalypse, mutant fans must now turn to Wolverine 3 to get their fix. This has been pretty much confirmed by Hugh Jackman to be the last time we’ll see him as the character so you would imagine that Fox would want to have closure with this release. Thanks to a reliable source, we now have our title, which may offer some insight as to what we can expect with this final installment.



Many believe that Wolverine 3 will feature the character of Old Man Logan, something Jackman has hinted at himself. In the comics, this is a much older Wolverine; one of the last remaining heroes after a large group of super villains put up a united front to eradicate their foes. Whilst this is unlikely to be the plot of the third Wolverine, recently leaked photos would suggest that we are indeed getting an older Logan.



Sources close to the project have revealed that the title of the film will be Weapon X and while 'sources' might not be enough, we can assure you they are reliable.


This suggests that the program which created Wolverine will play a large role in the film, maybe a resurgence of the initiative that Wolverine plans to shut down once and for all. This would certainly offer closure on this characters’ story, as well as possibly set up the origin for X-23, a character Bryan Singer himself pitched to Fox to replace Wolverine. We won't have to wait long to find out more details, as we have also been informed that the official release of some footage, poster and title will be happening at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.

Does it sound plausible? Maybe!

Maybe that was why we see the start of the story with an older Logan?


Of course, everyone wants a scoop on this very secretive project, up to this point -- so I wouldn't be surprised if we find another alternative story down the line

Fox has supposedly announced that it will not participate in the coming July ComicCon.

But that does not seem very plausible -- they have always been there to unveil their latest XMEN franchise story.

Maybe the recent supposed announcement of non-participation( Was it ever confirmed?) was just a new marketing ploy?

It looks like the Mr. Sinister post-credit scene and the Weapon X cameo from XMen:Apocalypse may be both setups for WOLVERINE 3.

Someone has pointed out that one of the actors who has been cast is an actor from England. Supposedly, Mr. Sinister is English. He was also at some time been interested in the Weapon X program.

It is interesting to note that Stephen Merchant has been announced as part of the cast. He is English, whose height is a towering 6'7". He has also recently had his head shaved for Wolverine 3 ( according to his own Instagram post). One of the casting calls is one for a male who is between 6'5" to 6'9" and who is either bald or willing to shave his head. He is supposed to be a stand-in for one of the actors.

If the role of English actor Stephen Merchant is not important, why would a stand-in be hired for him?

Could he be Mr. Sinister?

Could he be one of the antagonists to Wolverine?

My two bit prediction: This story is actually going to be Death of Wolverine. It's going to tie back into Weapon X and that whole can of worms, cause they can't leave it alone. New Wolverine clones created from his blood and such. Laura Kinney will be born. And in the end, Wolverine is gonna be a glittering statue just like in the comic. I hope they do that. Cause for the movies they've made, it's perfect, and far more fitting than some half assed Old Man Logan story. They've made it all about Weapon X this whole while. Let's finally show this version of Wolverine shutting Weapon X down

Is WEAPON X The Title Of James Mangold's Sequel To THE WOLVERINE?



Many fans assumed that Hugh Jackman's follow up to The Wolverine would be Old Man Logan, based on the fan favorite comic. But is the film actually titled Weapon X? A new rumor says that's the case.


On paper, it's pretty difficult for 20th Century Fox to pull off Old Man Logan. They don't have the rights to use Red Skull, Hulk, She-Hulk, Hawkeye or Spider-Man. Scratch that, forget 'difficult', it's practically impossible. With that in mind, could the third standalone (and perhaps final) Wolverine film retread through previously covered source material that was tackled in X-Men Origins: Wolverine? That is, could Jackman and Mangold be setting up a confrontation with the remnants of the Weapon X program? If The Reavers are involved, that implies a Lady Deathstrike appearance, another ex-participant of the Weapon X program.

Hopefully 20th Century Fox will weigh in on this latest rumor and confirm the title (or debunk it by revealing the actual title); we'll update when/if that happens.
