I don't understand BIRDMAN's being listed among the "comedy" entries in the Golden Globes. I loved the movie but thought it was a drama. That probably means a shoo-in for Michael Keaton (well deserved) and a clearer field for Carell, Cumberbatch, Redmayne, et. al.

Craig Zadan is wearing an Oscars ID on the photo.
He was not a producer of the 2009 Oscars, though. But he did co-produce the 2013 Oscars, where Hugh was a nominee for LES MISERABLES and part of the ensemble that sang ONE DAY MORE from the film.
Maybe this was taken at rehearsals?

Just found out that the brother of one of my college friends got an Oscar nomination for sound editing in DUNKIRK. He's really a music editor, but since there's no category for that, he was included with the sound editing team because the sound and music departments worked so closely together. If you've seen DUNKIRK, you know that the sound/music was almost a character in the story. So happy for them!

Congrats to your friend’s brother. DUNKIRK was an intense, almost visceral experience both visually and audially. I liked it much more than its “cousin” DARKEST HOUR.

There's someone I am cheering for to win his long-overdue Oscar for CINEMATOGRAPHY! We met him once ( Prisoners) and he has been nominated many times ( 13 times) in the past but without being awarded a win. He did get an Oscar nomination for PRISONERS but the Oscar win was elusive. But his work in that movie heightened the dark and throbbing atmosphere of that film!
Roger Deakins who is nominated ( again!) for his cinematography for BLADE RUNNER 2O49!

At 18'30", Baz Luhrmann talks about THE MUSICAL IS BACK, the almost-forgotten big production number at the 2009 Oscars because of the attention given the Emmy-award winning (for the writers) opening number featuring a solo Hugh Jackman performance!

In my perfect world (that exists in my mind), Hugh would be presenting Keala's performance of THIS IS ME. Do you think this can still happen?? At the very least I would think he'd be there to support her and Pasek & Paul...

From what I have read, they are trying to limit the amount of time allocated for Best Original Songs. I've read somewhere that only 3 songs ( This Is Me, Remember Me, and one other) will be allowed to make presentations, and the two others will probably only get a short clip? I have a feeling that the Best Original Song Winner may be announced by Lin Manuel Miranda. Hugh has not attended a ceremony in the last few years ( since he did hosting duties in 2009) except for his nomination for LES MISERABLES. We'll see if he may be invited to present a major award (for one, no one has been announced to replace Casey Affleck, for announcement of Best Actress winner so far)? Such a pity that in a banner year for his career ( Logan and The Greatest Showman) that he does not have a major role to play in the ceremonies No matter what the critics said about SHOWMAN, the universal public acclaim cannot be denied! Er... I wonder who they will ask to present the BEST PICTURE Oscar? He was a previous and beloved Oscars host...and has given the movies two outstanding films this year...so Jo

It is confirmed here, about the live participation of ALL the singers for the nominated songs! Let's add our messages of support to Keala! Here's mine --

I wonder if Keala will be allowed to be accompanied by the singing/dancing ensemble from the movie? All in full costume! PS: Hey, maybe if someone appeared as a singing/dancing mutant, he can brandish his claws and sing THIS IS ME among the "oddities" Jo
