I'll bet his time sitting in the corner was spent meditating.

Ellen,
Did you watch the movie in 3D or 2D at the Ziegfeld? I have never watched a movie in 3D as I am wary of getting a headache and that it might provoke a feeling of nausea. Although those who have seen it say that 3D is the only way to go.
Any advice?

The NYC premiere was shown in 3-D, but honestly I don't feel it was necessary. Two dimensions would have been fine.

I've seen the movie now -- in 2 D! And it was perfectly fine!

Will write about my full impressions later, after seeing it a second time tomorrow.
But briefly --
Fairly faithful to the original script, which I liked very much -- PAN is a grand ride in its film adaptation! It is a fast-paced thriller with some quieter haunting moments, a work of visual beauty and gorgeous film scoring, and with strongly-etched characters well portrayed by actors with their acting and screen presence.
The biggest surprise for me is Hugh's film portrayal -- it is even more remarkable than what I expected! It showed some powerful moments ( not necessarily of the flamboyant variety mentioned in most reviews and interviews) which defined the character in a more nuanced manner. At some point, I even wished he could have a chance to do Shakespeare after his delivery of a speech that resonated to Burton, Mason, and other Brits of history and the arts.

I think the critics of all kinds had a hard time accepting an "origin" story which compared this tale to the elements and characters of the original story by James Barrie. The plot is not just a thrill ride but harks back to a dark tale which haunts. The film used the many aspects of creative film-making and is actually a joy to behold. I wonder if they would have viewed this movie differently if there were no other Peter Pan stories which preceded it? Their problem, as film goers -- not mine certainly And I am not even Brit -- just a citizen of the world to which this tale belongs. Nor am I someone young - but one who could appreciate fully what the world of a child's imagination could be Jo

Interview in Mexico City -- los40.com.mx/los40/2015/10/08/videos/1444313064_720131.htmlThe conversation is a bit hard to follow ( they were dubbing over in Spanish) ... but don't you think this is his best apparel ever in an interview He looks terrific for someone turning 47 on Monday ( which he has repeated in a number of recent interviews)! What a surprise for Hugh El Homiguero (TV show in Spain) is always an interesting experience for Hugh when he does media tours for movies.
