I wonder why he is doing the press/media junket for PAN now? Does he expect to be busy ( maybe elsewhere) when late September/early October comes around? Maybe filming in Australia? Could it be that he was originally contracted to do promo and publicity at this time period, prior to the original release date in July...and he has attached himself earlier to other professional activities beyond the previous release period? Or is WB planning an aggressive and extended period to promote the movie, with this phase only the first part of the publicity campaign? Just speculating Jo

Hugh is going to look so different compared to the trailer at the media junket. Thank goodness

Jo, that's a very good point regarding the timing of the junket

It sounds like there will be more promo activities from Hugh...and that this is just the headstart!
Hope WB is actually planning a huge and protracted publicity campaign for the movie!

From the movie official site -- www.panmovie.com/about-the-filmNo IMAX ?? This would have been wonderful on that screen format! Could the postponement of the release date to October 9 may have caused it to loss its priority to IMAX screens, as there might already be commitments for other major films released around that time? Hopefully, that is not the case, and more because they have not firmed up new IMAX schedules yet? Jo

At the Barcelona film trade show, Warner Bros made a major presentation of its forthcoming releases. www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cineeurope-warner-bros-unveils-new-804177I wonder - is this part of the early PAN promo work that Hugh worked on when he stopped by LA on the way to Australia? Btw, PAN is not an origins story by James Barrie ( if that is what THR meant) -- it is inspired by the James Barrie original play/book on Peter Pan. Jo

In Greek mythodology, here is how Pan is portrayed -- "Sweet, piercing sweet was the music of Pan's pipe" reads the caption on this depiction of Pan.Even more enchanting are the different myths as to how his musical instrument originated -- And to theatre enthusiasts, this amusing aspect --

I'm surprised about PAN (and Hugh) being at Comic Con this year. I went once when XMen ORIGINS: WOLVERINE was one of the panels. It was a complete zoo because the first TWILIGHT movie and cast were also presented. Those fans were nuts. They refused to give up seats for the other panels and the fan boys were angry. Parking was impossible. I'm glad I saw Hugh, but don't think I'll go again.

HALL H is the prime real estate at the ComicCon - usually reserved for tentpole presentations. www.comic-con.org/cci/saturdayBased on the above schedule ( which of course can be subject to change most likely in terms of content by the presentor), it looks like Warner Bros will be the first occupant of the huge auditorium. It is likely that the fanboys ( Batman vs Superman! Wow!) will be filling that auditorium. But hey, Hugh Jackman is a fanboy favorite...and who is to deny that many of them might have had Peter Pan as a boyhood hero, too Fox will be presenting at 5:45 pm ( most likely for Apocalyse et al). Contents have not been officially announced. Jo

It's just gotten too big and too many people! At one of the ComicCons a few years back, one of our boardies was hit by a car and killed! Nancy

Live blogging from CS and SHH on the Warner Bros ComicCon Panel ongoing -- PAN coming up soon! *They have introduced a wrap-around screen ( around the huge Hall H - around 6500 seats) to show footages -- I guess this gives everyone in the hall excellent viewing. *Computers are closed when the footages are ongoing. *The blog is not in chronological order -- as the blogging shows most recent ones first. Also, I had to break up the set of blogs - hope you can make sense of them *Blogging was by Edward Douglas of ComingSoonNet. PANBlog: It's Wolverine! Blog:Ed's trying to get back on Wifi, but this is from him: "they just showed the new trailer for Pan which looks great. We got to see the Croc, Tiger Lilly in various outfits, a battle between two flying pirate shipsBlog: the clip is the introduction of Jackman's Blackbeard Blog: Sorry guys, had some technical difficulties but they moved onto Pan and they showed a brand new trailer and just showed a clip **** Blog:the footage shows Peter's arrival in Neverland on the ship after being kidnapped. The ship swoops down from the air into the water and then flies up with large globes of water and flying fish all around Blog: on hand is director Joe Wright, Hugh Jackman, Levi Miller (the new Pan) and Garrett Hedlund (the younger Hook) **** Blog : Joe says there's "no real goodies or baddies, they're all flawed" even Peter who steals ideas and is above reading/writing Blog: Peter asks "Is this Canada?" (I actually know the background of this joke from my set visit) **** **** Blog : I'll get back to footage cause I have to shut my computer off again... BvS is next! Blog: I got some pictures to post Blog : They're done with Pan after one audience question...they're crushing! Blog : Anyway, back to the clip The session opened late ( 10:47 am, instead of 10:30 am) with Man from Uncle, followed by Pan, then about other movies to be released by WB before they went to the main presentation of Batman vs Superman. If you want to see the rest of the blogging -- www.superherohype.com/news/346923-warner-bros-pictures-comic-con-panel-live-blog?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=warner-bros-pictures-comic-con-panel-live-blogPS: Edward Douglas said he will do a proper writeup later on their site. Drew McWeeney of HITFIX reports on the PAN portion -- www.hitfix.com/motion-captured/batman-superman-and-so-much-more-at-the-warner-comic-con-panelDrew, it seems, has not read the script ( he is surprised about the WorldWar 2 reference, obviously relating it only to the original Barrie novel...he is guessing that Hook turns into Peter's enemy in the end...he thinks the abducted children are going to turn into pirates...) plus he passes judgment, based on the trailer, on the quality of the narrative imagination ( I wonder if he knew that Jason Fuchs's script actually made it to the Black List in 2013?). Drew is fairly well-respected as a film blogger, but I hope he did his homework first, before making those conclusions. Unless, of course, he knew that the original script has been changed ?Jo
