Should I read something into this or what He says, " with cameos it's already eight [films]..." Okay - cameo s -- does that mean there is a second cameo for an XMEN movie coming? XMEN XMEN-2 XMEN-3 XMEN:First Class ( cameo) XMEN:Days of Future Plans XMEN ORIGINS:wOLVERINE THE WOLVERINE *Is he talking about the cameo in FIRST CLASS ... and does he count a supposed cameo ( a photo - although that is Hugh Jackman as SMA. not as Wolverine) in DEADPOOL ... unless there is another cameo coming, in APOCALYPSE? *Or does he count the untitled WOLVERINE 3 as the eight movie? Hmmmm.... emoticon-cartoon-020

Yes, I pointed that out on the X-MEN (WOLVERINE) thread. That number stood out for me, too. And he said "cameos" plural, not singular. Pretty good clue, I'd say.

Well, he did say "cameos" (plural) so he could have meant Apocalypse, or he just made a mistake by adding the "s." Time will tell. Nancy

I could watch this over and over again Can you imagine -- Hugh was Gaston twenty years ago! He certainly proves that fine wine mellows with age! And within the year, he will still be playing his other famous role -- in a series spanning 17 years for his Wolverine! And he is still looking topnotch " brawny" !! Luke has a good voice but looks simply like a typical villain -- not unlike Hugh who plays a pompous full-of-himself Gaston. Maybe with the right setting and the right costume, Luke can emote the role as I had always imagined it -- whether in the animated version or the stage musical production! Hey, some people ( including moi) have a proprietorial attitude as to how Gaston should be portrayed When the live action musical is released - I will certainly " be a guest" at the cinema! Taron does seem to enjoy showing off ... and loving musical theatre He and Hugh should find an opportunity to do a musical together And Wow -- this really takes me back to that time... *When I bought my first animated musical DVD because I fell in love with the score! *When I first saw the stage musical ... in London with John Barrowman as The Beast. I did see a local production many years later. Loved it again! *When I discovered that Hugh Jackman was Gaston in Melbourne...and hunted for a copy of the Original Australian cast recording...and found it!! And a few clips from the show gave us a glimpse of that long-ago Gaston *I was so impressed when I found out that Jerry Herman was the original Lumiere! Can't help but grin whenever I see one of the West Side theatre district streets which also bears his name in tribute to his many theatre credits and other artistic accomplishments. Jo

A face-off between two Welshmen!!
I wonder if Wossy (Jonathan Ross) realizes that Hugh is also of English stock ...and that he carries a dual passport! I have been to Wales ( Cardiff) to watch the best singing Welshman ( according to moi) in a concert -- Michael Ball, who is also half-Welsh!

Jo, I think you mean Jerry Orbach (not composer Herman) was the original Lumiere.
That was a fun clip from the Ross show, but I think Hugh was a little too gentlemanly in letting Evans sing most of the "Gaston" song. (Or maybe he was aware he'd forget lyrics as per usual, LOL.
I have the Aussie OCR, too, and put it on my iPod a dozen years ago, where it still remains. Love hearing Hugh sing as the braggadocio baritone Gaston.

LOL - Yes, Jerry Orbach! Sorry, Jerry! I was too excited to have found the Gaston face-off video clip!! Hugh wasn't prepared at all - because he had to ask for the lyrics! Plus he knows that Luke is now the Gaston who is in the spotlight ( someone observed that the sharing of the Gaston lyrics was "scripted" because Luke was there partly to promote BATB). But Luke is no match for Hugh's "growing" ( courtesy of the prep for WOLVERINE 3) physique. The Taron show-off was the real revelation. Maybe he secretly wanted to be Gaston ... Actually, it is the Gaston character who steals the spotlight in the musical I was laughing at how Brit viewers express opinions re -- "Hugh can dance -- he's even got rhythm!" "It is amazing to hear Hugh sing !" " And Hugh can be a very good host!" <giggle*> <giggle*> LOL - have these viewers been hiding under a rock Or didn't they know that Hugh was introduced to international audiences of the performing arts through a yearlong portrayal of the singing and dancing Curly ( which portrayal was nominated for an Olivier award) at the Royal National Theatre/West End in the London revival of OKLAHOMA! ? Also, didn't they know that Hugh is a Tony-winnng triple threat, an Oscar-nominated star of a movie musical, a Fred Astaire award winner, and an Oscars and multiple Tonys host smiley-bounce016 PS: A coincidence -- WOLVERINE 3 will be released on March 3, 2017 while BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is slated two weeks later on March 17, 2017. These photos support questions that were asked not really in relation to the EDDIE THE EAGLE movie, but Hugh's forthcoming farewell WOLVERINE 3 film --

Nancy, re your query to Jo: "What is SMA?"
I believe that refers to Hugh's People photo shoot as Sexiest Man Alive.

This also brings back that long-ago clip from the Documentary on SUNSET BOULEVARD which shows a few clips from BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, with Hugh singing the ode to Gaston. Check it out at around 2'28" and keep watching ...
