Batman Movie Trailer Done In Logan Style

If the trailer for Logan didn’t tear at your heart, then there are few things that can. The slow footage paired beautifully with Johnny Cash’s cover of “Hurt” a la Nine Inch Nails, and Hugh Jackman’s brief performance was enough to send fans into a fit. The anticipated trailer has since spawned off dozens of copycats from fans of other franchises, and it seems like one DC Films fanboy has given the Logan treatment to Gotham’s own vigilante, Batman.

Youtuber Gage Masterson uploaded a video titled “Wayne Trailer (Logan Style)” online to rave reviews. The video features Cash’s iconic cover and footage from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The video is a tribute to Ben Affleck’s tenure as the Dark Knight, and the clip is suitably heavy on the soul...

Of course, Affleck’s solo Batman film doesn’t appear to fit the actual tone of Logan. The actor’s film is said to be a more action-driven standalone.

It feels awkward, to say the least

When I went to see Doctor Strange I had to look around to see the audiences reactions when this trailer debuted on the big screen. It was so quiet watching it but after it was over you could tell that a lot of people were hooked on the trailer. THE reactions weren't as fan frenzied raving as most Marvel and DC flicks but you could tell the trailer hit everyone very emotionally.

The first trailer has a lot of non comic book fans buzzing

You may have already watched the trailer the umpteenth time...and still many questions linger.

This trailer analysis video serves many answers and also asks many questions -- I guess we have to see the movie to complete those questions

But this is very enjoyable to watch and you may find yourself nodding your head in agreement with his analysis, plus his keen eye for detail is amazing --

And hey, why are most people thinking Oscar for this superhero movie

There's been a slew of black and white photos released to promote James Mangold's LOGAN (mostly from the director himself), and now we have another image of Hugh Jackman to titillate you. This time around, Jackman's showing off those beautiful claws in a setting that would feel at home in an '70s horror film. Sound cool? That's because it is!


The aspect I love about this image is that it really doesn't feel at home with the rest of the material we've seen for LOGAN. Mangold seems to be pushing his 3:10 TO YUMA vibe, and I'm more than okay with that, but as previously mentioned, this shot in particular almost looks like something ripped from HALLOWEEN. I'm diggin' it! I admittedly don't have all the faith in the world that James Mangold will hit a home run, but I like the promotional material we've seen thus far. Now I want to see how hard they push this R rating!

New LOGAN Image Is The Stuff Of Nightmares

Coming off of the most recent X-Men: Apocalypse, I may not have been too high on the concept of Logan, the third Wolverine flick. On the whole, Apocalypse — while fun and entertaining — didn’t have a whole lot to offer in the character, and despite the difference in director, I worried Logan would be more of the same. However, when that first trailer dropped, and that Johnny Cash song came on, I was entranced. The film was a drastic change in tone — one that felt more like a modern indie western than your typical superhero film.

But with the film only a handful of months away, the ever-reliable wponx Instagram account has posted yet another image. This one is labeled “Silence,” and like the others, it’s in a beautiful black and white. The photo shows Wolverine standing over a body, outside of a house. Silence Per usual, the aesthetic is great, but I can’t help but get a bit annoyed at these images. As great as they look, we know that the film isn’t in black and white. We saw the teaser, and the teaser was in beautiful, gorgeous color. With that in mind, I’m almost starting to feel cheated by these images, as they’re representing a version of the film I’ll never get to enjoy. Oh well.

Logan prowls into theaters on March 3, 2017 and surely – surely! – all of these monotone photos will lay the groundwork for a black-and-white cut of Mangold’s sequel when the times comes for the Blu-ray release, right? Sheer demand eventually brought us the black-and-white cut of Mad Max: Fury Road, so who knows. Time will tell.

The second trailer was for Logan, what we're promised will be the absolute last-time no-takebacks iteration of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, the stand-out of Fox's X-Men films. That first movie featured a somewhat stiff, believably surly actor who, over the last decade-plus, slowly grew into the role; like George Reeves, Adam West and Christopher Reeve, he'll always be associated primarily with his comic-book counterpart, but you can see how he's turned this fan favorite into a far more fleshed-out protagonist.

This final hurrah features the older, battered hero in his autumn years, taking on one last job to save a younger mutant. The clip promises lots of berserker rages, leaping into frays and the usual set pieces you associate with these movies. But even in the dialogue-light preview, you notice how Jackman imbues this character, who's come close to calcifying into a cliché numerous times, with a gravitas and palpable sense of tragedy – the admantium-clawed warrior in repose. The old Jackman wouldn't have been (and wasn't always) capable of that. The actor that the role has helped shape? He is. If the genre is ever going to do anything besides mint money, it's going to start with investments like these.

When it comes to comic book movies, 2016 is at an end. You’ll get my thoughts on Doctor Strange and the other films that came out this year next week. But this week, I want to take a look forward and give myself something to anticipate for 2017.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a trailer that invigorated me as much as the red band trailer for Logan. While X-Men films have been a roller coaster of quality that almost never reached true greatness, I have a lot of hope for this one. I love the look and feel of this movie, and Hugh Jackman and James Mangold have proven to have a deep understanding of who the character is and what makes him compelling. The Wolverine was a great character study and a solid movie, but this looks to have a tighter, bolder vision. Jackman’s portrayal of Wolverine has been the anchor of the franchise, and with this likely being the end of his sixteen year run as the character, it looks like a worthy send-off. I cannot wait to see this.

The poster image, while action-filled, looks like a character study itself! Unlike many previous XMen posters which are usually posed images! It evokes the trailer theme of dramatic moments within an action-oriented tale!
