I've seen quite a few tweets re celebrating important occasions like anniversaries and landmark birthdays by seeing the revival of THE MUSIC MAN. It does give a feel-good vibe, a celebratory and fun musical!
Hope their plans and dreams to celebrate come true on Broadway!

So many dashed hopes and disappointed people--Hugh included. Let's hope Broadway returns to normal as quickly as possible.

A comment from someone on the clip of Hugh performing Rock Island at Jay Leno's show --
There have been quite a few who have referred to his masculine appeal as one of his distinguishing traits.
James Mangold calls it Hugh's "incredible masculinity". A PRISONERS fan refers to his acting as a "terrifying masculinity". A now, a reaction to his performing talent as carrying an "unforced masculinity".
Talent, physical appeal. and strong charisma in one person!

Saw this on the REPLY section on the Official Facebook Page of Hugh Jackman -- Also, you can't say that Hugh Jackman does not have a bunch of really loyal fans

For those who have already bought tickets and have been reassigned new dates -- you probably have already confirmed them or requested for an exchange.
Just to let you know - I had changed my dates from what was assigned to me ... but I found 1 set for a date that I could not use. I requested Telecharge for cancellation and refund -- and they have sent me a confirmation email approving the cancellation/refund. This was not an EXCHANGE - just a straightforward request for cancellation. There's a form you have to fill up ( it can be found among the other instructions when you are trying to do an exchange).
Deadline for exchanges is July 23, 2020. Presumably general sales will begin right after.

Someone on ATC casts his personal doubts on the rationale for wanting to watch The Music Man. At some point, it seems he simply want to relate it to actual political leadership. Many others challenge his assumptions. Also, interesting point about how people relate to things that are not believable. Please follow the discussions thru the links in the thread. www.talkinbroadway.com/allthatchat_new/d.php?id=2498055

Re above -- it is interesting to note how people find as more attention-getting stories of people who are not morally upright or who tilt towards the slightly deranged. *Sweeney Todd *Phantom of the Opera *PT Barnum *Satine of Moulin Rouge *Billy Bigelow *The King of Siam *Norma Desmond *Evita *Elmer Gantry *Lancelot and Guinevere *Frank Tassone *The characters from Aspects of Love *The Joker ( from comic-book movies) *Wolverine ( if referring to his dark and uber-violent side) *Keller Dover *How truthful are most salesmen/marketing men Mankind is "human" and subject to many frailties. He makes interesting copy when he is flawed Jo

If I tally the replies, I think those who defend TMM as worthwhile entertainment even in that setting are a good number. By the way - despite the protestations -- most everyone is conned by advertisements - -or at least we pay enough attention to the message even if we know it is exaggeration or we only listen because we like or believe in the messenger! Or if the messenger is naked and we like him All endorsements in ads are in effect giving us exaggerated and not very credible messages -- and that is modern life. They are even more exaggerated these days! What about tentpoles -- all those superheroes test the credibility of the watching public -- but we love them! At the rate I am bombarded daily with emails teasing me to do online shopping is testament to the fact that we like to be conned once in while ( or at least that is how we justify retail therapy ) -LOL! A few who think Hugh may already be too old to play Harold Hill Someone did say that Hugh is handsome and athletic so even if there is any further delay in the opening of TMM, it will not be affected by his age. My reply -- Lol - how many 52 year-olds are brave enough to pose naked/near-naked ?? Jo

Robert Preston was 43 when he filmed The Music Man. Turned 44 right before it was released in June 1962. To me, he looked older then than Hugh is now!

Here's hoping Warren has created a great big tap dance number for Sutton and Hugh, no matter that the dance form was born much later Tall order for Hugh, to match Sutton's perfect skills for tap dancing Jo
