This is probably a little Off-topic, but it is all over the news that Hugh is negotiations to reprise the role of Wolverine in the new XMEN ensemble movie called XMEN: The Days of Future Past, which is supposed to bridge the universes of the early XMEN ( First Class) and the present day XMEN ( Patrick Stewart-kind-of Prof Xavier). His role is supposed to be critical in the graphic novel - just guessing - because he is the one who lives in both universes or one who can traverse both. www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/x-men-hugh-jackman-talks-395364Btw, Bryan Singer is directing, Patrick and Ian have already signed up as the older XMEN... Anyway - we will find out soon enough ( which will give me enough time to find a copy of the graphic novel ). Btw, the production schedule is -- X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST (aka UNTITLED X-MEN: FIRST CLASS SEQUEL PROJECT) - January 14, 2013 - Montreal, CA; Details Are only Available By Subscription.. (Posted: February 1, 2012. Revised: November 20, 2012)So, will it be Prisoners and Days of Future Past for 2013 filming, if he signs up ? Jo

www.hitfix.com/news/hugh-jackman-in-talks-to-reprise-wolverine-in-x-men-days-of-future-past[/i] By HitFix Staff Thursday, Nov 29, 2012 12:02 AM Hugh Jackman is suiting up for yet another turn as everyone's favorite adamantium-clawed mutant. With Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen already on board for Bryan Singer's "First Class" follow-up "X-Men: Days of Future Past," Jackman is now in talks to reprise the role of Wolverine in the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. If his attachment becomes official, this would be the actor's sixth time out as the popular character. Jackman, Stewart and McKellen starred together in the first three "X-Men" movies, two of which Singer directed. Matthew Vaughn stepped in to reboot the franchise with last year's "X-Men: First Class," a prequel that saw James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender stepping in to replace the latter two actors in the roles of Professor X and Magneto, respectively. Now, of course, current and former stars of the franchise are uniting for "Days of Future Past," based on Chris Claremont's classic 1981 storyline that ping-pongs back and forth between the "present day" and an alternate future in which mutants are held in internment camps. Alerted to the danger, X-Men of the earlier era spring into action to prevent an assassination that will set the dystopian events into motion. Jackman's much-ballyhooed cameo in "X-Men: First Class" stirred talk of his reprisal in later installments, though this stands as the first official report of his involvement. Not that the "Les Miserables" star has strayed far from the character since the end of the original trilogy - his second solo film in the role, James Mangold's "The Wolverine," is slated for release on July 26. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 18, 2014. Will you be seeing "X-Men: Days of Future Past"? Does Jackman's involvement make you more likely to attend? Sound off in the comments[/quote] If Hugh becomes part of the movie, we can set up a separate thread? Jo

A fanboy beat me to it A few weeks ago when there was some buzz about the casting of XMEN : Days of Future Past...I found out that a copy of the graphic novel was in a local bookstore. I thought it was a bit expensive ( about $ 24) and decided it could wait since it wasn't sure whether Wolverine would be part of the script... I came back to the bookstore-- and the staff said that it was brought to a book fair in local schools. I asked why this kind of literature was being brought there - she said because the youngsters ask for graphic novels . When she checked the computer inventory -- it was gone -- and a fanboy beat me to it :'( LOL! Jo

I hope he is not dropping PRISONERS because of this!
It could very well be the only two movies to look forward to before he comes on board HOUDINI, if that happens.

It looks more certain now that Hugh will be involved -- *Filming starts in April *It will not involve participation as in a regular movie *Hard to say NO to Bryan Singer...and to the franchise itself. www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/x-men-ian-mckellen-hugh-397995>>>By contrast, new deals must be struck with the original trilogy stars, though insiders say negotiations haven't been overly complex. For one, Jackman and the others will appear mostly in scenes depicting an alternate dystopic future, so pay and time commitments are not substantial. Second, there is a great deal of goodwill on the part of the actors to return, thanks mostly to the involvement of Bryan Singer, who directed the first two installments of the original trilogy and was a producer on First Class. Singer stepped in to direct Days of Future Past when First Class helmer Matthew Vaughn backed away for mysterious reasons.<<<Jo

Great > Now I am really glad I placed that order for the graphic novel...and Santa is supposed to deliver it soon, via our Post Office Days of Future Past is supposed to start filming in April -- Jo I just read an article this morning that said the movie was based on the Uncanny X-Men series #141 & #142. I made note of it to tell my son. His partner has an extensive collection so I wanted to ask him if he had those two. I don't remember if the article said "in part" when referring to those comics so maybe it's in combination with the graphic novel. Sue

I don't think I will ever get tired of Wolverine or the X-Men (with the exception of X3). The thought of this new movie really makes me happy, though, because I love the idea of mixing all of the new and older cast members together. So we'll have Wolverine this coming summer and more than likely Days of Future Past next summer. I can deal with that. - Alicia

James Mangold promised to have a teaser/trailer out sometime in February. Some speculations this might appear at the Super Bowl.
We'll see...
