Twenty four hours since the release of the LOGAN trailer, rough stats from You Tube indicates close to 16 million hits! Top five sites show about 14.5 million hits. Of course popular blockbusters can get over 100 million hits over time...but the initial response for LOGAN is very good! Based on the voting responses ( close to 200 thousand voters) for the two top YouTube sites, the LIKES show an impressive 98.5% ratio as compared to the DISLIKES of only 1.5%

Many articles analyzing the message seen on the trailer on their many implications. Hollywood Reporter gives its insight of how this impacts on Hugh Jackman's legacy in the world of Hollywood superheroes -- www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/logan-trailer-promises-something-unheard-940123 But could their view of how the movie will wrap be incomplete ( in the sense that Logan/Wolverine may just be riding into the sunset?), if one reads what James Mangold shared in the EMPIRE interview -- www.empireonline.com/movies/features/logan-trailer-breakdown-james-mangold-talks-us-first-teaser/So, are these hi-octane action scenes representing Logan's final battle? Is he finally hanging up his claws? Or will there be a hint of what might come at some future date, depending on who wins that battle? Are they really "retiring" Wolverine and keeping him out from any future XMEN team movies ( recast with another actor?). Or is this marking the end of the original trilogy team?? Judging by the not-so-warm reception to the last team movie ( APOCALYPSE) what are the prospects for new XMen team movies? Or will other XMen-related teams simply emerge? Also, why set up X-23 in this movie, if there are no plans to continue the tales of the XMen? Interesting possibilities. And what will a probable second trailer show? That there could be an epilog to the first trailer ?? Jo

This is the song cover by Johnny Cash of HURT --
When I first checked it out, right after the trailer was released, it had a million-or-more less views.
Interesting how so many of the recent fedbacks say they came to the site for LOGAN/WOLVERINE!
The oldtimers are sort of resenting that the XMen fans have come in full force - LOL!
I think people are not realizing that James Mangold helmed the biopic on Johnny Cash called WALK THE LINE. So, it is not surprising that this song was already running through his mind when the trailer was being put together by him and the Fox marketing group.
Btw, a new shared info from SuperheroHype.com message board say that it is now # 25 on iTunes!

Someone on SuperHeroHype board posted this -- To be a really big hit, the movie must also appeal strongly to non-comic book fans! As I was saying earlier, the trailer looks like it will appeal to non-comic book fans, too -- such as female demos who rarely see such movies but may be drawn to the emotional appeal of this film. The non-comic book friends mentioned by the SHH poster are male demos who are probably drawn to the character-driven plot and the western feel. Will the mature demos also like this, based on the trailer? *If word of mouth is very positive and critic reviews favor the movie, many could be drawn to this kind of movie albeit it is a superhero film. *There will be those who first met "Wolverine" in the first XMen movie and are now 17 years older -- there is sentimental appeal and a curiousity factor as to how his saga will end. *The movie seems to emphasize a family relationhip among Logan, Prof X and the Young Girl ( not yet confirmed as to identity by Mangold ) and the father-daughter vibe between Logan and the Young Girl as well as the old Mentor-Almost Son relationship between Logan and Prof X is also an appealing aspect of this story. That would draw the much older demos. As for the fanboys -- Amazing how so many keep saying that they can no longer remember how often they have viewed the trailer...AND...how they have teared up ( and will likely tear up when the movie is released) while viewing this! I just learned a new word -- " the feels"! I have read that so often in the feedbacks to the trailer And of course -- the Jackman fans who tend to watch-a-movie-with-Jackman-a-lot! Jo

A number of viewers of the trailer refer to the scene around the table as their favorite scene. Maybe because it is the only light moment in it? I think the first trailer successful set the tone and mood of the storyline. The personal relationships and the drama surrounding them have been the focus. Even the action scenes have been de-emphasized. Maybe the next trailer will give us a more balanced selection of scenes...and show its superhero movie DNA ?? Jo

I wrote a reaction to the THR article a little earlier. A lot of insights are being written after the first trailer has been released. What if a probable second trailer changes the initial perceptions from the first one? I would like to see the full movie and see how the Wolverine saga ends, as portrayed by Hugh Jackman! Is Fox really closing the story on Wolverine and the original trilogy? Ironic that a younger Prof Xavier in the person of James Mcvoy would still be around in an earlier timeiine. But is FOX completely denying the possibility of a recast of Wolverine ( assuming he has to play a key role in an earlier timelime) -- say, when the First Class trilogy decides to explore the 1990's when Wolverine would still be young and very much around? X-23 belongs to the future and cannot sub for Wolverine in pre-DOFP stories! Just asking Of course Hugh Jackman's 17-year tenure as Wolverine is his legacy! What is missing in many of these tribute articles is that Hugh Jackman is now free to explore other artistic options more fully. It is another door opening, as one door closes! I wish what he would get is more of a full recognition of his tremendous talent and his exemplary professionalism! And that his Wolverine legacy is only part of it! Running through many social media or message boards or YouTube feedbacks is probably the most sincere and most loving tribute -- " Wolverine/Logan : You have been my childhood!" Jo

A trailer can be misleading -- as pointed out by many sites which analyzed the LOGAN trailer. It is said that sometimes the voiceover will not necessarily reflect what actually happens in the movie. Some questions -- *Why is Logan wearing the same blue shirt in the first scene where we see his hand shaking a little...and also in the last scene when he is seen holding what might be a shovel and the young girl reaches out to his hand? *There are theories that in some scenes, Charles is not really physically with Logan ( as Charles is really very ill) but that he is simply reaching Logan's mind. Is that old smelter plant where he is staying actually a makeshift Cerebro? *Logan's " the mutants -- they are gone now!" -- does it really mean they are all dead? Or simply stripped of their mutation because of, say, a virus? *Or, if the movie is partly an adaptation of Old Man Logan, that it was Logan who killed them under the influence of a mind-influencing virus that he was injected with? Hence Charles's: " Logan - what did you do?". *If they kill all the mutants...and this is Wolverine and Prof Xavier's last movie -- does this mean the XMen franchise can no longer have stories in the far future? Days of Future Past opened an alternative future, actually because of Wolverine's time-travelling action, and we see the Original Trilogy cast alive and doing well. Is that alternative timeline now all gone? *Will both Prof X and Logan/Wolverine die in this movie ? There are speculations that LOGAN seems less likely to be an adaptation of OLD MAN LOGAN but is closer to THE DEATH OF WOLVERINE? Ironically the leaked supposed early script has an even more mind-boggling ending Jo

www.ign.com/articles/2016/10/20/the-perfect-symmetry-of-loganParaphrasing -- “ Valjean you still have time,” we hear the Bishop say at the end of the trailer. Time for what, is the question? Time to become whole again, perhaps? To find redemption by diving back into the fray to protect and nurture a child once more, a kindred soul who saves Valjean as much as he saves her?...

He appreciates that there is more to Hugh Jackman's talent than just the Wolverine role.

There have been quite a few video reactions to the trailer -- this is one of the best : These fans know their Wolverine lore...and their views are well-grounded. I learned a lot...and I know that will help me appreciate the film better when it comes out. The one last wish by the articulate man on the left (light grey t-shirt) -- who knows? There have been hints of Sabretooth ( with Liev Schreiber) ... but there has never been a confirmation that he will turn up, except in one casting call where his name was supposedly listed among the cast. Also, in the leaked supposed early script, Sabretooth does make an appearance...so... One thing I have wondered about this trailer --
Isn't it the usual practice to show the major cast list ( and creative team) at the end of the trailer??
There is none here -- I wonder if they are hiding something or someone Jo

Some fanboys say they could feel OSCAR buzz for Hugh's performance -- I thought it was just their being sentimental about this being his farewell Wolverine movie or they were very affected by the change of pace for a superhero movie...
But this comment really made me think seriously about the possibility --
*the tremor in his hand *the slow movements to put on his shirt *the slow walk towards the smelter plant *the uneven gait when he carries Prof X to his bed *the tired expression on his face, as he lay with a festering wound on his forehead. *the droop in his shoulder when he stands with what looked like a shovel at the end *and even in that scene reminiscent of the X-3 fight in the woods, his torso seemed like that of an aging man, as he lunges with his claws towards the enemies. *and maybe even that poignant scene ( I call it this film's "Suddenly" moment) -- was that because he tires easily now??
Can't believe people are now just noticing how good an actor Hugh can be!

It's amazing that nobody expected such a trailer -- it has drawn so much admiration and appeal. Not even Les Miserables drew such a universal reaction of sentimentality and heartfelt emotion. Another blogger expresses his analysis of the trailer and why he loved it so much...and also hated it some. www.bonepicking.com/logan-trailer-breakdown/What continues to make me very glad about his reason for "hating" is the new perception of Hugh Jackman as an actor!
