I just noticed a bunch of these P-) in our Smileys list. If you can figure out what's missing or what new ones you'd like, I'll repair/adjust our options. The only one I'm sure of is the "TMI" sign, which we don't seem to use much. What actions/emotions would you like to see? OMG - The Wolverine is missing!!! Somehow the Smileys seem to have sorted themselves out from that generic message... but I added a few more (presumably to replace the "dead" ones) and now the " " popup in the reply box isn't big enough to hold them all. I'm working on it. Found some cute new ones... including a Bigger Better - emoticon-cartoon-020

<tantrum> - <bash> - This is what the last hour or so feels like, but I *think* I've finally succeeded. I hope there haven't been too many "bumps in the road" for those of you who were reading while I was messing around with the "guts" of the Forum. All the Smileys we've been using should be restored, and some new ones added... AND they should all appear in a wider popup window in the Reply box. They are not available with a Quick Reply, and they are probably only visible if you are using the default (Aussie Flag) theme. I don't have time to adjust all the other theme options right now, but I'll try to get to it over the weekend. Someone, please, let me know if the new Smileys are working for you.

Dabnabit. I can see that by "fixing" one thing I've created another problem. Some of the new Smileys have "normal" words for names. When you use the *word* the Smiley appears, whether you want it or not. Case in point (read backwards) [looc] <cool> [tnar] <rant> [ynnuf] <funny> I just deleted one I like because it insinuated itself into my response to foxie. I liked the Smiley called [oob] - but it turned my post on [skramkoob] into info on kmarks. Not good. I'm working on it.

Thank you, Foxie! smiley-happy096 It CAN be so frustrating, when these things second guess us and think they know what we mean before we do... smiley-signs066
Let me set up the two brand new emoticon-cartoon-020 emoticon-cartoon-023 face to face.
cool

Do you understand it now? Was that the problem - you were expecting multiple email notifications if more than one post was made on a bookmarked thread in between your actual visits to this Forum?

Can we add a "rolleye" one? Like this smiley-rolleyes010 or this smiley-confused009 or, maybe this <insomnia> ? I found a few more (OMG - there are gazillions of them!) while I was looking for that, including one called "Aussie" complete with bush hat and dangling tea bags... <aussie> (Couldn't resist) Enjoy them, and let me know if you think of anything else that would be fun and/or useful. [...and I messed up your post by "fixing" the names, but I think I managed to restore it]

Pretty sure I've got this sorted out - at least in the Aussie Flag theme.
You can now type the word cool, rant, or funny (among others) without the related emoticon appearing in your post. [Well, we'll see - when I hit the "Create Post" button] smiley-gen165

I like this one: smiley-rolleyes010 But <wtf> where is the *THUD* one? This one? It's right there, in the top row. You've got to look at it for a minute before it does anything. That's probably why you missed it.

It's wonderful seeing all the great selection of emoticons when I'm in my computer! It's very funny though when I'm accessing the forum in my cellphone. For instance... the "thud" comes through as "surprised", the "embarrased" emoticon comes through as "sad/unhappy" and the "thanx!" emoticon comes up as a "PIRATE" LOL!!! Yes, complete with an eyepatch. As for a lot of other emoticons they don't show up; just the word is spelled out.

Yes, complete with an eyepatch. As for a lot of other emoticons they don't show up; just the word is spelled out. A few of the standard/default Smileys were replaced early on with newer/better ones. That might be the problem. I'll see if I can keep the image and change the name so the text version is not misleading. I don't access the Forum with my phone. Maybe someone else, who uses the phone app, could give us all some more info on this. I'm pretty sure it looks the same on my Kindle as it does on my computer, but I haven't done more than "read" on it, so I can't comment on the Smiley options in the Reply box. Is anyone else seeing similar substitutions on their phone (or other "hand-held device")? <anyone> @all - I'm glad you're enjoying the new options. I've seen hundreds of possibilities - many rejected because they are mean spirited or violent (I assume they are used by gamers). If you'd like more additions, let me know and I'll look around for them. Meanwhile - Enjoy!

I have adjusted the Smileys for all the available themes. Everyone should be seeing the same emoticons now, even if you are not using the (default) Aussie Flag theme. Will someone who uses a different theme please check and confirm this? Thanks.
BTW: This apparently screws up some older posts with Smileys. I don't see a way to retro-fit it, but at least we should all be on the same page from this point forward. Sorry if this makes some old posts incongruous but I have neither the time nor the inclination to go back and edit more than a year's worth of individual posts. You can, of course, always edit your own posts.

OMG, something happened and now I can't see any smileys when I'm logged in and try to reply! Plus, on the Home page it doesn't show the most recent posts highlighted. It just says the date & time (in military time) of the last post, and mine is off by one hour. It says GMT -5, but it should be -4.
Help!
ETA: The time is correct now.

You don't say how you access the Forum. IF you are on a computer, here's my suggestion:
Logout; open your browser's Privacy option, find the list of "cookies" that have been stored on your computer, delete all the cookies that refer to "proboards" - and the names won't all start with proboards. Look for ads.proboards, login.proboards, etc. - anything with "proboards" in the name. After you delete them, close your browser and restart your computer, then come back and sign in again. Let me know if that works.

I don't get emoticons or one of my favorite thing being to like items on my ipad I don't have an iPad and am not familiar with them. Maybe someone here who has one can help you. Alternately, if you click "Help" in the top banner you can access the ProBoards Support Forum. I would probably screw up the whole thing I don't know what you are talking about here. Please be more specific.
